I have received several questions recently about details of the Sportsman Class. This class was created and intended to be an entry level, lower cost type class. There are tons of 400 EX's, Z 400's, Warriors, 250R's, LT250R's, etc. out there and this class is to give people with those bikes a place to race without having to race against the high performance, built 450's and big bore 2 stroke race bikes.
Here is how the class reads:
* Sportsman: 16 and up adult class. 4 strokes not to exceed 400cc, 2 strokes not to exceed 250cc. 250R's & LT250R's must be COMPLETELY STOCK
Here's some detailed info: * The class is for anyone 16 years old and up. * 4 stroke bikes are not to exceed 400cc. Bikes such as Honda 400EX, Suzuki Z400, Kawasaki KFX400, Arctic Cat DVX400, Yamaha Warrior, or any other sport quad up to 400cc are allowed. Standard bolt on mods such as pipes, air filters & intakes, etc. are allowed. Big bore kits, spacer plates, strokers are NOT allowed. * 2 stroke bikes are not to exceed 250cc. Bikes such as Honda 250R, Suzuki LT250R, Kawasaki Tecate, and Yamaha Blaster are allowed. Aftermarket pipes are allowed. motors must be otherwise stock and use stock cylinders, stock heads, and run stock carbs. Big bores, spacer plates, stroker motors, aftermarket carbs are not allowed. * Aftermarket suspension such as shocks, a arms, swingarms, etc. are allowed.
If there are any questions, please feel free to ask
