i have a yamaha breeze 125 and my sparkplug is stripped  will it or should it still fire. it backfires out the carb but wont run. ive reset the timming 20 times but it wont actually start.it has fire to the plug and keeps backfiring out the carb. i put gas directly in the head and put the stripped plug in loosly but it wont fire. just backfire out the back of the carb. it is actually firing but not starting. i put new valves and guides in but just cant seem to get the timing right. i thought maybe because the plug was stripped its not sealing right and that may be why its firing out the carb. help me please.

mine is a 1991 yamaha 125 breeze  totally automatic if you have a good top and bottom end maybe i would just replace the entire thing  ive been working on this one for 6 months and have had no luck getting it to run again  it used to run great but i bent a valve  i replaced both valves and could never get it running again

im more concerned to know if the plug is stripped and its loosing compresion out the hole should it at least fire the motor and not backfire out the carb i am gonna put a helicoil in it to repair the plug but if its something else then ill just replace the motor  ive worked on the timing for several months changing the timing chain all sorts of different ways but no luck  just keeps backfiring ive tried evrey type of variations on the timing chain and no luck thought it may be off a tooth but no luck

In order for any internal combustion engine to run you need 3 things, spark, fuel and compression. If you are missing one it won't run. I would fix the head and then try to make it run. You're just wasting your time until you repair the head.
