No problem. We can adjust motorcycle class structure accordingly as the turnout increases.

"Growing Pains" is a good problem to have.

Any rumors out there about any race dates after the Ocala race. I know there have been problems but its 5/1/08 and 2 races in the book and we know of only one more race. In the past we had tracks and no riders and now we have riders and no races. I think that KTM 54 guy wears his steel shoe around because his left foot is twitchen for something to do!!!!

There are races in the works, and dates should be forthcoming. We have faced every obstacle imagineable in trying to secure dates.

Dave has spoke to them on more than one occasion in the past. Maybe he can explain the situation better.

I know they have no interest in bikes or quads.

Just as well then. Kinda like where my time and my dollar are being spent now. Have had nothing but a blast so far. Just need that new track. Then we can have steady diet of short track....tt.....and the long track, throw in east bay every now and then and I will be good. Gotta build a tt bike.

Once we get a track operational in Ocala we will resume the regularly scheduled practice days.

Eastbay doesn't have any practice for us that I'm aware of.

I was told Auburndale has an open practice on Thursday nights, although I don't know the exact times.

I raced there this bike week and the track was junk, it had stutter bumps going into 1 and pot holes coming out of 4. I believe the track has potential but it would require someone like Brady to prep it for bikes/quads instead of cars.

volusia would be fast if it was smooth though, it has big wide sweeping turns.kinda flat with just a little bit of bank. i'd love to race there if it's preped right!

I wouldn't hold my breath for a race at Volusia. First and foremost, they are not interested in allowing a local series like ours to race there. The AMA pays SEVERAL thousand dollars to use that facility during Bike Week, mainly because of its close proximity to Daytona and their ability to draw fans from there. Also, they do very little to nothing to prepare the track. This past year the race promoter had to work on the track. The year before it was so rough several pro riders wouldn't ride on it. Consider Volusia to be a 99.9% no go.

I previously had a race lined up at Putnam, but it closed and now has new owners, so now it's time to start over tying to get a race there.
Bronson is asphalt
Hendry is a definite NO
Lake City is a definite NO

I just picked up a new camcorder and plan on taking some video at the races. I'll see if Shawn can bring his helmet cam and maybe we can put a good clip together.

* Hendry County said no but was a real nice guy to talk with. He is extremely worried about risk of injury to riders of quads and bikes. He asked me to call him again in October.
*The Okeechobee track closed a few years ago.
*Southern Raceway...where's that? I can't remember which one that is...seems like I chased alot of dead ends and that may have been one of them.
*DeSoto Speedway-Bradenton, Fl. -rumored to have a 1/4 mile dirt track. I called and talked to the owner there a few weeks ago. If someone is down in that area it would help me out a ton if they could pop in and take a look!
