Hello,

I have a 2002 Polaris 400 2 stroke.  I recently took it in for service, and it has been acting funky ever since.

It was running great, I took it in for a 20hr svc, got it back, and now it runs like crap.  Fouled 2 plugs on me (never a problem b4), and won't hardly run.

I put a new air filter and plug in it, and it seems to be doing much better.  BUT, now it doesn't seem to be using ANY oil.  I ran a tank of gas through it, and the level looks unchanged in the oil tank.  How can I tell if it is adjusted properly?  I looked in the owners manual, and can find no indication of how many turns out the adjustment screw should be.

HELP!

The exhaust seems to be smoky still, so that means it is getting oil, right?

Is there a way I can make sure the injector is still working?  I don't want to hurt the motor.

Thanks in Advance!

Well I can't help ya regarding the injector and the oil tank since I premix my gas. But on 2 strokes, fouling plugs is a indication of a rich mixture. Is it smoking more so than when you took it in for service? If they didn't touch the screw on the oil tank here's my guess:

1) They changed your jetting(richend) and didn't tell you
2) Some jerk off at the shop mistakely put premixed gas in your tank cause he thought your quad doesn't mix it's own gas/oil
3) They DID adjust your oil tank screw

However, if you said you fouled 2 plugs which again is a rich condition, then I can't seem to understand on why your oil resevoir didn't go down? If it's mixing more oil to foul the plug your oil level should go down faster. Hope this helps.  -Mark
