Does anyone use an air ride hitch pulling there toys around?

I was looking into buying one, but was unsure of which size to get. I thought I could use the class 4 ($495.00), but would be close to the capacity if not over on tongue weight of 800#. The class 5 ($915.00) has a tongue weight of 1,400# which would be good, but there kind of pricey.

Anyone know of any others? Pretty much all of the searches put me back on there site.

I never even heard of the concept, but dang it seems like it would make a world of difference in hauling, when I tow my trailer with both quads in it, I'm towing close to 5K pounds and it ends up throwing me around a bit in my regular cab, short bed truck.

I pull 4 quads, plenty of gas, a 75 gal water tank, 4 coolers and all the other little stuff with my Dodge 1500 ext cab shortbed. I added Timbren Load Boosters to beef up the rear and get rid of the sagging, which gave me a bit of a rougher ride when loaded. So by the time I get to Okeechobee or Lake Wales.... I'm beat up and ready to rest for the weekend. The air ride hitch seems like the way to go, just have to find one that is a little bit reasonable in price.

Sounds like you should of bought a bigger truck. I would spend your money on a good weight distributing hitch. That air ride hitch to me, would just be one more source of bouncing and potential problems.

Exactly, they should offer it as a package with one of those tornado gimmicks for your intake. Then your 1/2 ton truck could handle the weight of a 1 ton and get great mpg too.

dude, I got one of them tornado things but the one they sent me was too big to fit in the intake,,,,so I just duct-taped it to the exhaust and now it sounds like I got a magna-flow exhaust and I'm getting at least 10mpg more  Nerd

I did buy a bigger truck, I bought a 29' motorhome. What does a bigger truck have to do with improving the ride? I'm well under capacity pulling a 5,000# load. The air hitch simply gets rid of the shock and bounce when hitting bumps or rough spots. Watch the videos, a bigger truck doesn't solve the problem. Even with a weight distributing hitch you will still have the bounce, the only thing the WDH does is even out the weight across all the axles.

I just cut a hole in my bed and welded a gooseneck ball to the top of my rear pumpkin. Made all the difference in the world. Oh, and I also installed split fire plugs and one of those tornados on my diesel. Friggin thing just hauls now and gets like 36mpg pulling a 38' gooseneck toy hauler.

just to make sure here,,,,these guys are just making fun of the concept of this thing working just like it says,,,,I for one think it would make a difference in comfort of ride inside the truck, but not much else.

I've used anti-sway hitches in the past, and have one now that I have not yet mounted.  They do make a big difference, first, they will often take the sag out of the truck with trailer hooked, they stop or reduce the bucking, and they will reduce swaying from wind/changing lanes/improper weight distribution in the trailer.

I went to the website and looked at the product, I can't see how it's going to do anything at all for you.  It does nothing that I can see to control the trailer, unlike weight/sway hitches.  The trailer is still going to be bouncing around, you just might not feel it in the vehicle.  the hitches I've used actually have additional attachments to the vehicle besides the ball that put tension on the connection between truck and trailer, kinda like a preload....I'd stick with sway/weight distribution hitches.
