i have a predator 500 and i was looking to do something that would im prove acceleration in lower rpm ranges, cause it seems out in the trails it seems like this would help.

any ideas

as far as the engine go's its factory, ive heard that if i put a bigger sprocket on will help.

everything i put on is in my signature.

1 tooth down in the front will drastically improve the low end power. Also good suspension will help you go faster in the woods.

im gonna order new ones here try to get em on before the weekend, i was gonna get my suspension tuned and it was way too much. ill let her beat me up. also whats the difference between a dampener and a stabilizer?

They are the same, just 2 different names for them. Look for me at the race and I will help you adjust your stock suspension so it doesn't beat you up so much.

if my gear ratio is 14/38 ..............2.71

what size sprocket would i look for cause in the catalog it doesnt say sizes.

nobody has recomended a pipe, jet kit and air filer yet? thats a good way to get more power from your bike.

i dont need more power over all, i just need more power in the lower rpm ranges, i race trails so i dont go wide open a whole lot. if that was the case the bike has plenty of power.

you can also drop the tire size to in the rear, but trail riding really can be rough so i agree with the 13t sprocket up front

Why are you getting an 8" wheel?

If you trail ride I would get 9" wheels. 8" wheels are for MX to use 18" tires. 9" wheels are for XC/Trail riding to use a 20" tire.

If you go to a 13t front sprocket it will be like using 18" tires.

smaller tires= less ground clearance.

I wouldn't recommend anything smaller than a 20" tire for XC.

Sprocket (Gearing) is the cheapest most sure fire way to gain lower end. You might lose top end but not that important in the woods.

that too once i get my own truck you can bet your ace ill be out every single weekend, il probably reduce my days i work so i can go out after school like twice a week.

If the 13 tooth in the front is smaller than stock, also go up a tooth on the rear sprocket.  A Polaris and Suzuki are diffent machines no doubt. Dropping a tooth on the front and going up a tooth on the rear makes a big diffence getting out of the hole on the Suzuki.  A different rear sprocket is a cheap experiment to try.

In your sig it says you have Fox suspension if you haven't done so take the time to set it properly, check out their website for tuning recomendations.  Also, try calling their tech department to see what you can get of them.

yes i do have a fox suspnsion it a podium series edition, i am going up one tooth in the back also but i have only ordered the front so far. thats a good idea about calling them i will give that a try.

I happened to think about somebody recommending a pipe and jet kit.  Even if you are going to run a stock pipe, it might be a good idea to see how the jetting is.  They usually get it close at the factory, but it can be off and the ecceleration may not be as crisp as it should be.

Jets are cheap too.  You just have to take the time and patience to get it dialed in right.
