The laugh alone will give you the creeps.
I don't get it. How can it be a mathematical trick? It has no idea what # I picked? That IS freaky!

It something to do with no matter how you add it up, it fractions out to the number 9. If you look at the number 9,18.27,36,45,54,63,72,and 81. the object is always the same. And no matter what number you choose when you add them together and then subtract them it is a fraction of 9.

It's a simple pattern of numbers.

The law of threes.
Any two digit number minus the sum of it's digits equals a number divisable by three.

Anoriginal is mostly right but the correct answer is that the number is divisible by 9.  To convince yourself, look at the table of symbols, look at 3 and then look at all the numbers divisible by 9 (9,18,27,36, etc).  The 9's will have the same symbol but 3 won't be the same.  Simple trick.

Um..........derrr..........WTF? Were you paying attention in 5th grade? If a number is divisable by 9, it's divisible by 3.  Huh Huh Huh
