Well, Id get a 12 inch wheel. There are just sooooooo many more options with the 12 inch wheel. We bought 12" black steel wheels and Maxxis Mud Bugs for my sisters Rancher. The wheels are ITP. Im pretty sure we ordered them from Dennis Kirk (www.denniskirk.com) and got them for just under $500. Yes, that is more than just tires but it improved the looks by 500% too. The front are 26x10x12 and the rear are 26x12x12 I think. With the 26 inch tires, you get deeper lugs too. 25 is the last with 3/4 lugs and 26 starts 1 1/4 I believe. So get 26 or bigger. If you want tires to perform in mud Id get the Mud Bugs too. They helped the performance so much it aint funny. We couldnt be happier. Weve had them almost a year and they havent even thought about starting to wear down. Here are a few pics to show the differences:

well, denniskirk.com no longer sells Maxxis. Maybe someone will chime in and let ya know of a good place to get them cheaper. I know there are places. You just have to ask the right people or do alot of homework.
