so this thing injects hydrogen into the fuel/air mixture?

or does it inject oxygen?

I can understand how it might help a little if it injects oxygen,,,,but I have to wonder how the car's computer would handle an insertion of suddenly more oxygen into the mixture,,,,,how it might compensate for it, or if it would at all and just end up burning valves or blowing headgaskets.

I'm no mechanic, but I don't see a long-term happy-ending for any engine with this thing attached.

if you want more feul milage outof a diesel get a good free flowing exhaust and intake and a tuner and turning up the boost realy helps. my brother got 12mpg outa a stock duramamx with a heavy foot. he put a 5" exhaust, k&n, turned the boost up to about 30 psi with a needle valve on the waistgate and a diablosport tuner. he gets 15mpg with the tuner on 85hp with a heavy foot pooring out black smoke evry chance he gets. if he put the tuner on 65 and drove like a grandma, 18 mpg wouldnt suprise me. also ading sulfer back into your diesel helps a litle to, my brother puts just 2 stroke oil in sometimes but if your too afraid power service cetane boost works even beter.

The best way to increase fuel mileage is to slow down, and its free. Its just hard to do when you are in a hurry to go riding Grin. Slowing down from 80 to 70 will increase fuel mileage more than ANY exhaust, chip, intake, bla, bla bla. A diesel belching black smoke might be hauling azz but it aint exactly operating efficiently.
Big trucks and big tires dont equal big mpg but its the price we pay to haul all our crap to the woods.

you aint kidding there,,,,,but when I got 24mpg out of a 5.4L V-8 hauling my quad in the back,,,,,,I think it was worth slowing down to 60mph and setting the cruise control ;-)

I'm looking into a motorcycle or scooter now because of gas.  Also I found out that scooters do not need insurance?  And I was quoted $2k for a year... just for me.

I thought you didn't need insurance on a BRAND NEW bike only.  Any other bike you need it.

PFFT nooo wayy.  GSXR600 for me lol.  I have enough to buy a nice 06 upfront.  I think you just need to have your vehicle license and then you can get your motorcycle license.  I have friends that are 17-18 with bikes so I guess thats how it goes.  I may be wrong.

You need a driver's license, and then get the motorcycle endorsement. Florida does not require insurance, but most finance companies do.

a chip will gain you more mpg than just driving slow, if you drive slow with a chip it dosent black smoke and waist fuel its only whene you give it the gas before the turbo can spool enough boost to burn all that feul. no mater how you cut it  ship and more boost+more mpg on a diesel. if you drive fast with a chip you willprobably get the same mpg as driving slow stock, its just more eficient. ofcorse if you keep the chip on econo tune wich is normaly around 60+ hp but on the biger 120 and 150 tunes than yes you will burn more diesel. basicly a chip will pay for itself in fuel saving if you can keep your foot out of it wich most people dont buy a chip for. btw diablo sports are nice and only cost 300$ overnight shiped from rpmoutlet.com Wink incase your thinking that they are 700$ like those rip off edge and banks tuners.

Thats the best part of me being able to buy cash.  Considering a motorcycle for my main transportation will be a big decision though.  That increases risk of injury alot, especially if I had to go through rough weather.

All I know is that when they quoted my parents $2000.00 to add me to THEIR policy we were shocked.  Absolutely insane.  I asked other friends of mine and they are all $1300.00 or less.  Do they track every time I break the speed limit or 'accidentally' get the tires loose?

but are they getting their own policy, or adding to their parent's?

believe it or not, credit ratings matter to insurance companies as well.

hate to say it, but slowing down saves more fuel mileage than any tuner is going to get you.  going slower does not mean your not burning the fuel up.  pouring out black smoke means your not burning the fuel up.  before i recommend the diablo sport, I would recommend anyone to give Jody Tipton @ DP-tuner.com a call and have him send you a custom chip.  his 80 econo tune is talked about being the best economy tune and you can switch it on the fly to whatever else you want.  Another avenue you might want to consider if you are not 4x4 is gear ratio.  by the way, if anyone has a tuner in their vehicle, don't be FOOLED by the overhead consule, because once you chip or put a tuner in a truck, the overhead console fuel reading is no way accurate.  You need to calculate your mileage to get an accurate MPG.

Dont forget to also ask yourself if the possible mileage that you might gain by a chip is worth the 5-10k repair bill that your dealer may hand you when you burn up your engine or tranny and they void your warranty. Yes a $500 dollar tuner will make it a LOT more fun but the consequences can be big $$$$$$$$.

you guys make me laugh, but i guess i can understand that your all skeptical. but driving slow with a chip will get beter mpg than driving slow with a chip. my brother gained about 4mpg with a chip, and thats on the 85hp tune. and he is actualy calculating his mpg and his speedo is acurate. the biger factor that got him beterr feul milage i think is turning the boost up an extra 5psi, more boost tends to be more mpg. and if you have an idea what your doing and have a boost and egt guage than there is no reason you will ever need to take your truck into the deeler for repairs, maybe you guys are the type that go to the deeler to change your oil, if your that kinda guy than maybe you are beter off just driving slow for the mpg.

I had my 7.3 chipped, exhaust, downpipe etc...all I wanted to do is stomp on it. Now with the dually & the 6.0 I dont want to change anything since they are known for problems.Ive been thinking bio diesel or wvo for a long time but it turns into a hassle to find grease for free. When I saw this kit I was just intrigued by it & was wondering if somone else ever heard about doing something like that?

there was a discussion about this on the diesel place or some other forum not sure, but everyone agreed that it wouldnt do anything for milage.

i dont know about you powerstroke guys but i think my d max/alli can handle a little 120hp tune, an extra 120hp is still downtuned from the full potential of the engine in stock form, the trans is the weak link.
sorry i went off topic.

Isnt it past your bedtime little man? I have forgotten more about diesels and ANY other mechanical topic that you wish to discuss than you will ever know. Its funny that every snot nosed, living at home with there parents, kid that is driving a $40k+ truck is a diesel expert based on reading the Banks, or Edge, adds in the magazines and their ability to plug a tuner into their diagnosic port and download a tune into their truck makes them a mechanic. No, you make me laugh.
