I live in a town that used to be all farmers,white and blacks, no Mexicans. Now we have Mexican stores on ever corner. Our first grocery store was a Mexican store. I don't agree with our school systems teaching Spanish to kids in Kindergarten. They are barely old enough to learn what words they need to know in English. It's ridiculous!

what gets me about your post is you live in a town whites & black and your first grocery store was Mexican owned that just tells me 1 of 2 thing you are too slow to realize that if there was no grocery store around you you were not smart enough to open one or the Mexicans store killed your other store which means people in your town like the Mexican product my .02 and also your kids learning Spanish in kindergarden will be the best thing for them in the long run. my mother and father came here in 68 from a Communist Cuba and without learning English made a good enough living to were I have never questioned any of there methods and they still did good without the English just think if they would have learned it as with Spanish your kids will be more productive with it not just Spanish any other language. don't take any other of my post to heart I am a joker with all I know and some I don't but I will help anyone I can in time of need white, black, yellow, red and even some Mexicans lol J/K

First off I'm far from being stupid or slow. Second we are a small middle class town and the point of the story was that out of a past predominately black and white town that is now mostly Mexicans. I think it would be more beneficial for the Mexicans, Cubans, and any other non English speaking Individual to learn English. How many other countries speak English compared to other languages? If you travel almost every country knows some English.

And whether you want to believe it or not Cubans are a different class than Mexicans. And I've also learned not to take any posts on this website to heart, you'll always have someone pissed off over a little statement or take something the wrong way.


Oh and the town I live in only has 1 traffic light and that just got put in 3 months ago...It's a reallllly small town that is mostly farmers and ranchers not stupid people or people who like Mexican products, Our town is soo small we have a Mc'Ds, Hardees, a mom and pop restaurant and now a Mexican restaurant


And like I said a TRUE American...Not all Americans believe the same

The post looks like you are pissed sorry I am cuban by blood but I was born in US and second If you ask any Cuban just as a joke so you don't get caught of guard I didn't post anything about being stupid you did that on your own we (cubans) on a remark like that would tell you don't call yourself names it will stick no bad intentions meant by anything if you got mad I am sorry but like I say I am a joker and swear I do it for kicks I was born here but I am not gonna talk English just cause it is the native language sorry I will talk Spanish to Spanish speakers and English to gringos (smart remark )just for kicks again but if you are in a group of us (spic's so called) and something is said and you didn't know I would take the time to translate in other words I will not let you fell left out I am a joker but polite (sometimes) with this I finish and hope to meet some of you on the trails sometime so you will see I am a nice guy (at least that is what my Mommy says) really I am happy to speak both languages and will not apologize for my parents heritage I say something else you guys point in some is well taken in some ways. No one should have to appologize for their heritage. Its understandable to be proud of your heritage, everyone should. I feel the problem is more of a respect issue. When I went to Costa Rica on a surfing trip, I respected the country I was a guest in. I tried my best to speak their language. I didnt throw my trash on the ground. I was polite whenever possible. I didnt get upset because the native people didnt understand me. I did my best to not be a problem for any one. I think if most of the illeagals tried to fit in and be low profile things might not be so tense on this issue, but for some reason some of these people think they are owed something. I just cant make much sense out of the way these people think. Ive tried to look at it from both sides, and believe that a little respect could go a long way.

What it all boils down to is the US's lack of discipline. If they would crack down on teh illegals we wouldn't be in the situation we are in now. If they would quit taking parents rights away and stop punishing the parents who are trying to discipline their kids and make them respectful we wouldn't have all the problems with our youth.
