anyone care to do a group ride on the streets when gas hits $4 a gallon? i know its heading there unfortunately. gas was high enough at $2.90. I remember when gas was $1.65. wouldnt that be nice to have? i would buy a whole gas station if it went that cheap and keep all of it for myself

Nah, not at all. I think he's an idiot. I do what anyone with any intelligence should do. I listen to all sides, all stories, gather as much info as I can from all sources and then make my own decisions.
And then you toe the party line

I've never toe'd any party line. Rather I make and informed decision before acting.
Get over yourself. Again, I'm a registered Democrat. If someone poured ice water over you in your sleep you'd wake up and blame a Republican.
Tell you what, why don't you convince some of the leaf licking liberal feel good knee jerk politicians to let the US drill in Anwar, Alaska or other oil rich areas like off Myrtle Beach South Carolina? The area looked at for drilling in Anwar is basically wasteland and a tiny portion of the overall area. Environmental impact would be neglible at worst. Estimates put the numbers around 1 million barrels per day with no environmental impact. Yet, the liberal environmental idiots oppose it and have kept it from happening.
The USA is the third largest oil producing county in the world at something around 8.5 billion barrels per day only behind the Saudis at something like 10.5 billion barrels per day and Russia at 9 billion or so. Open up the US oil fields and lets drill. Then again, Bush being a US oil man would probably profit a bit too much if that happened. I mean, of course he's driving up oil prices overseas so that he can line his and his friends' pockets when they could be making soooo much more drilling in the US.
Give me a break.

I don't know if someone said this already or not but, I think the fuel prices will drop close to election time so the republicans can take credit for it hoping everyone will forget they drove it up in the first place.

I agree with some of what your saying but producing more oil isn't the answer. There's a monopoly in oil it's called Opec, They set the price. Plus why would they want more oil, it would lower the price of a barrel of oil. Resulting in lost revenue for them and oil companies.
We only get 1/3 of our oil from the middle east. I rather drill there in a desert than drill here in our beautiful land. There's nothing wrong with protecting nature, you don't have to be a leave licker to believe that.

NO, I would blame the guy that poured the ice and then I would kick his @$$
. In my opinion you toe the line of the republican party and I have never seen anything in your post to make me think other wise. I am not a die hard democrat and I am certainly not a leave licker and I don't have any problem with this country drilling for oil in almost any area within reason.
The issue I have with you is you seem to defend almost everything GW does, he can do no wrong in your eyes. Fortunately, the rest of the country and historians can see thru the fog of lies that this administration has produced and we all know that he will go down as one of the worst presidents EVER. Heck, Ronald Reagan was one of my favorite presidents but GW will make Jimmy Carter look good.

Look Fishy, you need to reread my posts a bit more carefully.
I have never "toed the line" and do not defend GW. In fact, I agree that he is not the strongest president we've had. However, I am intelligent enough to realize that GW is used as a scapegoat for more left wing idiots and moderates than Carter has pills. Anyone who honestly believes GW is 100% to blame for any ills the US currently suffers is quite frankly a moron.
Want me to vote for a democrat? Then give me a candidate that actually has a back bone, that hasn't flip flopped on key issues, that will actually do something more than give handouts at my expense, that has a little (just a tiny little bit) moral character, and I will cast my vote. The current democratic front runners are pathetic. Hillary? Obama? These people are leadership jokes. Don't even start on the House and Senate. Democrat controlled and unable to accomplish anything? Good Lord. I'm not saying the republican party is not without issues as well. However the leadership potential within the republican party is much more attractive to me (your average hard working, tax paying, educated white male over 35) than anything the democrats have. And, I say that from a neutral position, not from a "toe the party line" stance.
This is no longer a democratic/republican country. It's a cry baby bed wetting fanatical liberal verses staunch hyprocritic conservative state. In the middle are people like me that are dangerously intelligent when it comes to understanding root issues such as national and global economics, immigration, health care, foreign policy and taxation. I say we're dangerously intelligent not because we're all carrying MENSA cards or something; but dangerous in that we don't buy into the hype, the scapegoat mentality or the issue shifting tactics employed by most, if not all, high end politicians these days. We few in the middle think those that constantly blame their issues on one person (like GW) are not only stupid, but counter productive as they usually bring no constructive reasoning to the table, only complaints.

Doesn't give hand outs at your expense!!! What do you call 15 million illegals. Bush can run from that especially being a former governer of texas. He can't say he didn't know!!! You don't give a bigger hand out than that.
We should all voted for Ross when we had a chance!!!!!!

Ross Perot. I would have followed that little elfin basturd to the end of the earth. Smart man and very capable of running the company. Too bad most Americans were too scared to vote outside a party line.

FINALLY, a responce without talking down to people and for not blaming all the problems of this country on Bill Clinton. I was hoping I could get some sense out of you before this is all said and done. And believe it or not I agree with you on being in the middle of the road between the far right and the far left.
I for one have not blamed GW for all the countries woes but you have to admit that GW did the following.
You know what I will start a new thread about the current president so as not to highjack this one any longer. Please read and post because I love to hear your and other opinions.

I think I'm a "middle of the road" kind of man and I'm taking a serious look at Fred Thomson. I'll be the first to admit I'm not completely up to speed on all current affairs but when I hear Thomson being interviewed or answering questions on a show, I like his no B.S. nature and a good portion of his opinions. It is sad right now for the Democratic side because the options of voting for Hillary or Obama isn't really even an option for me personally. I just wish the Democratic party would get a decent person to run.
Who knows what you all think about this one, but I really think since the loss last time, Al Gore has picked himself up, and has been contributing to society in a great way. some disagree with his Green thinking ways etc, but to me he has shown that even being defeated, he still tries to be a servant to this country/world in another way. I think if he was to run again, I would vote for him. Even before Thomson.
