Just so everyone knows whats going on with us, water management came to us and said we needed some additional info because of the flack they are receiving from one of the neighbors. They asked us not to run any practices or races until we provided them with an updated topographical survey and some engineering showing if the rain water was being being diverted to their property. It is quite obvious that its not, but in order to permanently get the neighbor off our back we agreed.

We are working our butts off to be back running by the middle of next week (around Oct.31st). For those of you who have been wanting to come ride we apologize for the inconvenience, but it will be worth it in the long run. Cool

Thanks for your patience

I hope you guys can keep up the fight and continue offering our kids a premier riding venue.

People complain about kids causing trouble theses days yet when you give the kids something to keep them out of trouble someone has to go and try to screw it up.

I'd bet that if you did a study and compared a certain # of random kids to the same # of kids that race you'd find a higher % in the non-race crowd getting into trouble than you would from the race crowd. These kids are held to a high standard to be allowed to race, from staying out of trouble to doing good in school.

I'll be the first one to tell you that at our local track we have a stellar group of young riders that mantain those standards. I'd be willing to bet it's like that at all tracks nationwide also.

Stay the course, and let us know if there's anything we (as a parent/rider group) can help out with.

Thanks again,

It's all going to be fine guys, we just have to wade through a little more red tape. We should be set after this as far as all the permits go. But yes the neighbors are making it as tough as possible. The good thing about it though is that we are getting some of these things we didn't know about out of the way early on and they won't come back to haunt us later on! So I guess we should thank them, Huh? Tongue

For the most part, pretty unbiased and straight forward articles. A few inaccuracies, but they are overlookable. I think we'll be able to work our way through all of this stuff. Might take a while but "they" can't keep it from happening forever. Theres also a poll at the bottom of the homepage for the Suwannee Democrat asking about if the neighbors are justified in their dislike for the track. Vote on it if you like, www.suwanneedemocrat.com

Another update. Surveyors should be completely through with the survey today. Then I have to get the info to my engineer and let them do their thing. I would say best case scenario would be for us to have the application completed and in by Friday afternoon. Then we are at the mercy of Water Management as to when they issue the permit. Thanks for the support and patience!

jman,
I want to start by saying very nice MX track you've done a awesome job. I was talking to Alex and when he told me someone was breathing down your neck about nit pick BS. I was at Dirtfarm for the Riderz cup and Tony said you stooped by to talk to him. I talked to Tony about contacting Bret to have SSQSA com there as well. You and Tony are the most down to earth guys and I know this will go a long way with the rides.

Thanks for providing a great place to ride.

Water management will have the info today! In a perfect world we would have a permit tomorrow, but we all know it's not a perfect world. They have however said they would push it through as quickly as possible. Maybe if we all crossed our fingers.......

I've officially been told that there is a good chance that we would have our permit by Monday. I know that's not what those of you that have been asking want to hear, but barring any unforeseen incidents we should be rockin' next week. Grin
