2 nights ago I was at Outback Steakhouse in Plant City having dinner with my boss. I was in at 5:45 & out at 6:45pm. It was still daylight. I opened my truck door & realized everything in my console was in my seat & the driver side visor was down. i didnt leave it that way? Then I knew someone was in my truck. All Fords from 97 up have crappy driver door locks. You can stick a screwdriver in them & force them open. Well low & behold i looked down & the keyhole was pushed in. I had $2500 in cash laying on the seat in a manilla envelope marked "deposits", these dumbazzes didnt obviousley know how to read as it was still there. My motorola razor cell phone was sitting in the cup holder, untouched. However the console had my Colt model 1911 .45 caliber acp officers model pistol in there. It was in a black leather Kolpin case & inside the case the gun was in the original Colt holster with hammerlock, it had 1 clip in it full of hollow points & 2 empty clips in the bag also.
I realized when everything else was there that I had forgotten to take my gun out from a recent trip & I was sick to my stomach as I knew it was GONE!!!!!!!
This gun was left to me by my Grandfather 22yrs ago when he died. It is priceless to me, but it has a cash a value of over $2500.
If anyone in the eastern tampa bay area sees this gun for sale by some f**king lowlife, please buy it & I will buy it back for more than you paid.

Oddly enough, there was a red f250 2 spots over from me & I decided to look at his door lock before the cops left & sure enough his was broken into also. The man, probably in his 50's, came out about that time & I advised him of what happened to me & his 1st words were, they probably got my G** Damn gun. Sure enough, he had a .357 Smith & Wesson stolen from his truck. All stainless, 6"barrel & pacmeyer grips. These bassturds got away good this time.

I hope those crackhead decided to play a game & shoot themselves with mine because those hollow point will take care of them once & for all!!!!

Oh yeah, my truck is only 1.5 months old to me & now some scumbag has f'd up my door to support his crack habit. Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

I am going to have to say YOU are dumb for leaving $2500 on a seat in a parkinglot. If I saw that kind of money laying there I'd probably feel tempted to take it as well. Good thing they were that stupid.

dude, visit the local pawn shops once a week, tell them who you are, what you are looking for and that you will buy it back,,,,,you might want to mention to them that you are not interested in calling the cops on it, just that you want it back due to sentimental reasons.

Take the d**k out of your mouth long enough to talk intelligently. I said the money was in a manilla envelope. Thanks for your input it has really added to the value of this site. Glad to know this site has thieves like you on it as well. Now we all know this guy will steal from us.

BTW, you would have to be as tall as Shaq to see in my truck & it has limo tint.

And that means what? It's ok to leave $2500 cash on your seat? Obviously your tint didn't make a difference since all they did was pop your lock. Not only was the cash in an envelope, it was in an evelope marked DEPOSITS. As in money you have yet to Deposit. Mabey, just mabey, you'll hide the money next time. Just a suggestion.

I dont think I was raggin on you too hard but I'm sorry to upset you so much. You seem to be quite aggrevated over my comment. I'm not saying what they did was right and you were wrong, I was simply saying it wasn't bright on your part to leave yourself so open to such a big loss if they had infact decided to take the envelope.

Sorry about your loss.

Good day.

Thanks man I appreciate that. i plan on pawn shopping tomorrow. I will pay a nice reward for its return. I also have a 22' flats/bay boat & I would gladly take anyone who brings it home an all expense fishing trip all day in tampa bay. No questions asked for return. Unless of course you can point me to the scum who did this as I would love to wear my knuckles out on his face then drag him thru the streets behind my truck & then pour alcohol on his bloody azz.

94... I dont appreciate your snide comments. I am greatful as hell they couldnt read. I am also greatful you werent in the area or I may have lost the gun & the cash. You sound like you have experience at this from the words you choose.

Actually if you filed a police report with a serial number of the gun. If it was to go to any pawn shop in the state of florida it will be found.pawn shops are required by law to send the local police dept. a download every 24 hours of the business they have done for the day. Burglary reports are the cross referenced to locate stolen items. All they have to do is type in your serial number on the gun and it will then show up if it goes to a Pawn shop. It is rare that a stolen gun goes to a pawn shop,Too big of a paper trail for the crooks.

I inherited the gun 22yrs ago. i never wrote the #'s down anywhere. That is the dumb thing on my part. I know its gone, it just freaking sucks!!! I know some lowlife drug dealer is setting back looking at my gun thinking, "man I just gave up $20 worth of dope for this gun, what a deal"

Sorry, I guess hiding large amounts of money isn't as common sence as I thought. Like I said, I'm sorry about your loss but what I was trying to say earlier is if I WERE A THEIF and I saw $2500 sitting in someones truck, I'd probably take it.

If I saw it on the ground somewhere, hells yeah I'd take. I'd be that much richer. But I dont think I'd go to the trouble to break into someones car and take it.

What happened to you is far more common than you think.  The exact same scenario happened to my brother here in our town.  He drives a lifted Excursion and kept his 9mm Sig in his console.  They popped the passenger door the same way, left his laptop and check book and took the gun.  Thieves are aware that there is a good chance that certain vehicles are more likely than others to contain guns and that is all they are after.  It takes less than 45 seconds to open a Ford, open the glove box and console, look under the seat, grab the gun and anything that is openly valuable (cash or jewelry), close the door and walk away like you were leaving your own vehicle.  Unfortunately, you will never see the gun again.  Without the serial numbers, the cops will destroy the gun if it is ever found, plus the thieves will probably grind the numbers off anyway.  Sorry it happened to you.  I've got my concealed weapons permit and have had it since the beginning, but for all practical purposes, it's pretty much useless.  You can't be in possession in most places of business and if you leave it in your car, you stand a real good chance of turning the gun over to the scumbags that you carry the gun for in the first place.

I hope to one day ride with you diggin. We think alot alike. I know its gone & I will always remember that day. It hurts because I feel like I let my Grandfather down. I appreciate the support of most on this forum.

oh yeah, when I fix the truck there wont be a keyhole in the drivers door ever again. I will replace with a rear door handle with no key hole. I will use the electronic combination or the key ring remote. I also plan on getting the alarm with a pager & remote start. Problem solved unless they break the glass.

I am sorry to hear this happened to you.  Unfortunately I know how you feel.  I got my dirt bike stolen 5 months ago.  Lucky for me they caught the POS who stole my bike.  I am sure you have the feeling of complete helplessness, thats the way I felt after i realized my bike wasn't on the back of my truck where I left it.  Keep an eye out for the gun on ebay or craigslist.  You never know where it may pop up.  Best of luck to you.
