Ladies Always Be Aware
«

It may save a life. A candle is not dimmed by lighting another candle. This was going to be for the ladies only, but guys, if you love your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc., you may want to pass it onto them, as well it's better to be safe than sorry.
We can now add to the list of victims the retired 77 yr. old TCU professor from Ft Worth whose body was found last week in Oklahoma--and the 11 yr.old in Sarasota, FL. Because of these recent abductions in daylight hours, refresh yourself of these things to do in an emergency situation...This is for you, and for you to share with your wife, your children, everyone you know.
1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do: The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do!
2. Learned this from a tourist guide in New Orleans. If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM . Toss it away from you....chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you, and he will go for the wallet/purse. RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!
3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy. The driver won't see you, but everybody else will. This has saved lives.
4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc. DON'T DO THIS!) The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR, LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE.
5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage:
A.) Be aware: look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor, and in the back seat.
B..) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.
C.) Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, and the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out.
IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)
6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. (Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot).
7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times; And even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN!
8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP . It may get you raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked "for help" into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.
9. Another Safety Point: Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last, and she called the police because it was late and she thought it was weird. The police told her "Whatever you do, DO NOT open the door."
The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had cra wled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over. The policeman said, "We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, DO NOT open the door." He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded, and uses it to coax women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby. He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women saying that they hear baby crying outside their doors, when they're home alone at night.
Please pass this on and DO NOT open the door for a crying baby. This should probably be taken seriously because the Crying Baby theory was mentioned on America's Most Wanted this past Saturday when they profiled the serial killer in Louisiana.

Thanks for the added info and the reminder about things that should be no brainers for us. We all hear these things and make them a part of our lives for a short time afterwards. Unfortunately, the new safety habits don't usually stick and we need reminders. I know I do.

Thanks, we need to be aware of our surroundings and stop being in such a hurry to get every where. I think when we are hurried or rushed is when we can be easily attacked.

Been meaning to have one of those (not that one necessarily). I've shot guns a few times but never actually been taught how to use them properly. Wouldn't mind spending some days at the shooting range to practice. Wouldn't feel comfortable having one until I was confident about using it.

My suggestion would be to take a course on gun safety. If you chose to have it with you take a conceal carry course. The statistics w/ guns are astounding. Yes I have mine, and I've spent some time shooting competition. I am a huge gun safety advocate. Learn more than just how to shoot. Learn everything about them including how to clean them. If you just go out and shoot w/o cleaning it you could have other problems w/ the gun should you ever really need it.

I agree with you, when I was a young boy, my father made me clean the guns and know how to break them down before he would let me shoot them. I also have my CCP and never leave home without my pistol and permit. Hopefully I will never have to draw it but I know its there if I need it.

My wife refuses to carry a firearm because of my son been 7 years old. She knows how to shoot very well and very street wise. But still I worry… So what I did is both my son and wife as a Nextel Phone. I use the GPS tracking feature on the phone to keep track of them. My son carries it in his book bag and knows it’s for emergency use only and not to play with it. I can use it on any PC and locate them instantly. And the police can use it to track them down. It has a 30 day history, so now I know how many times she went to the Mall. And yes she knows she being tracked. Kawgirl great choice on handgun, girls notice that the hammer is design to not grab your cloth when pull out of your pocket. Heres a picture of my desert eagle 50.ae.

Hey Casey - I have a private Gun range if you want to learn how to shoot (close to Sebring
) I have a 22 that would be perfect for you to try. The invite to my camp is still open.
I totally agree with QT314Nfla take the Conceals Weapons Safety Class EVEN IF YOU DON'T GET A PERMIT!!! I recommend anyone that has a gun in the house to also do so! Nothing worse than knowing a gun is in the house and using it in the heat of the moment without a clue in the middle of the night.
I always dismantle and clean my guns therefore I know ever thing about it.

I agree with you girls carrying a concealed firearm is a BIG responsibility. I know that we have all gone through this but remember you can get charged with a crime if you leave a firearm at a childs reach. Non the less its a tragedy that we can only dream of. Remember girls weigh out you obtions before you deside to draw down on someone and ALLWAYS expect the worst. There will allways be someone better than you and that gun can be taken away from you just as easily as you pulled it out. All you can really do I CONSTANT PRACTICE. By the way i've seen guns taken from guys too. Dont think im picking on the girls.

The revolver is a S&W 642 and the Semi Auto is a Glock 23 .40 cal.
How does your hubby like the .357. I was thinking of getting one for work. Its just the Sig-Sauer manufactured that round and its still pretty new. I here it packs a nice punch.

Here are some better pics. I love this piece. I got it with 3 high capacity magazines. Extended slide and magazine release. Trijicon night sites. $ 420.. out the door. It's a great gun Ive seen more girls with this type of gun that the ole wheel guns. The Glock is vert east to shoot its the same trigger pull every shot. BUT YOU DO NEED TO PRACTICE WITH IT !!!! It comes with a 5.5 lbs trigger pull out of the box and NO SAFETY !!!! This is a very serious gun. Several Law enforcement angencies will only allow you to carry it. Ive droped mine got suck in the mud with it at rodman V no rust no problem pick it up and shoot. Lightweight for the punch. and it will take 13+1 on a high capacity magazine.

He loves it. It is alot of gun for the size
I can't shoot it anymore, it about rips my thumb off ...shot it one time.
I think it has something to do with the FLAMES shooting out of the end of the barrel too LOL [smiley=Pinch.gif] Mine shoots flames too but with less PUNCH.
