http://www.floridatrailriders.org/flyer/08_season/SWFTR_QS_102007.pdfThis IS an AMA/ATVA sanctioned event and proof of membership is required. This will be a neat event for sure! All new land for FTR. New type of atmosphere for sure. Remember there is no pit riding where we camp. This area will be seperate and all FTR rules apply. The other parts of the property are not part of FTR and what you do there is your own business(FUN)! This event is hosted by SouthWest Florida Trail Riders. They are a very small club and travel very far to prepare this course. They have, what I consider, a master trail maker working on this trail. Should be an exciting weekend!

Okay boys and girls. I am the blues right now because todays race was postponed. It has been rescheduled giving us back-to-back-to-back weekends of racing (weather permitting LOL) This event is still a go and from what I've heard it will be a very awesome course. Some of you rode SOME of the property and you have to admit, that was fun. So hold to your hats, the Pearce family is making it known that they are the premier off-roading site in the state of Florida. Having SWFTR make the course and show them how to make a woods race happen, is just another way of proving they want quality. This weekend event, if you ask me, is one of the biggest things to happen for off-roading in a long time. 4X4 mudding. Motocross practice/race with cash payout FTR quad scramble race Sunday woods riding on race course Live music Camping all weekend-Motor coach friendly Helicopter landing area Lets git it on!

$30.00 each for the addmission unless you are there Sat only $10.00 each...that's ok unless you are like several in the FTR....have a wife and kids.....gets to be a bit pricey......just my 2 cents....remember 'WE" are doing this for fun and "WE" should not have to be helping pay for concerts or 100% pay backs for other events that are there the same weekend
The Outlaws will be there but I just wanted to bring this point up with people that have kids ...like YeeeHaww Benton and others

I agree that $10 a person is a bit excessive for someone who has there whole family there just to watch. I know the Pearce family is doing a great thing for our sport, but I think they need to come up with a better system of charging at the gate for the FTR racers.

I agree with this price jump thing. It will be harder for families and spectators. I am willing to bet this small fee will cause many to stay home and miss the fun. Funny what some will or will not spend money on. FTR events are not usually a money making venture, but L-Cross provides this kind of thing for a living. Most of you already know that. Most of you also know that places to ride are dwindling to nothing in the Southern part of the state. Up until a few weekends a go, SWFTR was not going to have any place to host an event if it were not for L-Cross accepting FTR in to host an event. This should worry all of you. Developement is changing the landscape of Florida so severely, so quickly, the government has not kept up the recreational aspect of this growth for off-roaders. There idea of keeping up is to shut down completely for fear of legal liabilities. bla-bla-bla. I could keep going...

Very True Brian.....20.00 dollars are not going to break us (outlaws) but a man bring his whole family might not come and that is not so good...we need EVERYONE hopefully that'll be the only price jump for everyone this year

Looks like, according to the flyer, that the $10 cover the whole weekend. I'm only going for the Sat. race though and even if I had to pay $10 extra for my wife it would help if my kids were free. With 3 race weekends in a row it is going to be tuff for the family man to make them all.

I am planning on attending my 1st event with another rider (1st timer as well) just wanted to make sure i am not forgetting anything.
Entry Fees: $50 Gate Fee $10 per person (Good all weekend) Spark Arrestors are required (I have it) 96db MAX sound limit (Unknown) Tether switch FTR transponders $20.
How about numbers? Also how can I find out if i am under the 96db MAX sound limit? (I have the Yoshimura TRS Carbon Fiber Full Exhaust System)
anything else a 1st timer should know?

Alright for a first timer, the memberships are what kill ya the most.
Probably just a typo but for the first Fee you have entry fee. Should be FTR membership=$50
Dont forget this is an AMA/ATVA sanctioned event too, so your gonna have to sign up for that too. Should be like $50
Racing is expensive but well worth the fun!

Okay, For a first timer, Join FTR $50 http://floridatrailriders.org/welcome.htmJoin ATVA (the ATV part of AMA) $39 http://www.atvaonline.com/This event $50 Gate fee $10 per person Transponder $20 = $169 You keep the transponder and the memberships are good until middle of next year. Go to the home page and read the rulebook and that will answer most all questions. As for numbers, I bet if you sent in the membership form to FTR now, you could have a number assigned to you before the race. If you wait, just bring some paper plates I guess. You sure wouldn't be the first one to do so hehehe Your pipe can be tested at any stereo shop if you want a real accurate reading. The guys and gals doing the testing are not out to break anybodys hairy beanbags over this sound thing. If it is loud, you can bet there will be trouble for you and they will break out the meter. They know what is acceptable and what needs to be tested. Fresh packing and the spark arrestor should do the trick. *tip*If they can stick the stick through the pipe, you fail the SA test. Try to keep them quiet. Other really important things to remember; bring a hydration pack like a Camel Bak fluids are a must!! Don't try and be a hero your first time out. The race is NOT won in the first turn. Just try to finish. THAT will be a challenge. Move out of the way if a faster rider comes up on you. They are probably not even in your class. Most importantly!!! If I pass you, block like crazy!!

The Outlaws will be there....after working all day on the quad to see HOW much damage was done after getting bucked off by a damn tree yesterday at Chipley...Funny how that tree wasn't there at practice or the 1st lap......was great up until then....out front and pull away...then I seen dust from the group in ft of me and new I was catch'em....just as I caught a glipse of'em Bam ...tree jumped right out in ft of me... ... Tip of the hat to the TTR for making an Endoro Cross section...that was a great section...you could go throught it or take the longer high road around it...anfway it was fun.... A 1st....A 2nd... and a last....
