Did you know that it's Beautiful Women Month?

Facts on Figures: There are 3 billion women who don't look like super models and only eight who do.

Did you know Marilyn Monroe wore a size 14?  [smiley=hotty2.gif]

If Barbie was a real woman, she'd have to walk on all FOURS due to her proportions!

The average woman weighs 144 pounds, and wears between a size 12-14.

One out of every 4 college-aged women has an eating disorder.

The Models in the magazines are AIRBRUSHED!!! - NOT Perfect!!

A psychological study in 1995 found that 3 minutes spent looking at a Fashion Magazine caused 70% of women to feel depressed, guilty and SHAMEFUL!

Models 20 years ago weighed 8% Less than the average Woman.

Today they weigh 23% less......

~~ Beauty of a Woman ~~

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears,
The figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen from her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives,
The passion that she shows.
The beauty of a woman
With time, only grows..

An English professor wrote the words: "WOMAN WITHOUT HER MAN IS NOTHING" on the blackboard, and directed the students to punctuate it correctly

The men wrote: "Woman, WITHOUT HER MAN, is nothing."

The women wrote: "WOMAN!! WITHOUT HER, man is nothing!"

The Images of Mother

4YEARS OF AGE  [smiley=Heart.gif] My Mommy can do anything!
8 YEARS OF AGE  [smiley=Heart.gif] My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE  [smiley=Heart.gif] My Mother doesn't really know quite everything.
14 YEARS OF AGE  [smiley=Heart.gif] Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either!
16 YEARS OF AGE  [smiley=Heart.gif] Mother? She's hopelessly old-fashioned.
18 YEARS OF AGE  [smiley=Heart.gif] That old woman? She's way out of date!
25 YEARS OF AGE  [smiley=Heart.gif] Well, she might know a little bit about it.
35 YEARS OF AGE  [smiley=Heart.gif] Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion.
45 YEARS OF AGE  [smiley=Heart.gif] Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF AGE  [smiley=Heart.gif] Wish I could talk it over with Mom. . .

Haha.. thats great Smiley I love the statistics though... I think they are definately true. I think every girl, at some point in their life, has had some form of eating/weight disorder caused in part by magazines and TV. We all not only have to look at them, but we also know which ones guys are looking at... and what the girls in them look like. There's constantly an invisible force pulling all of us down, it's aweful. Eventually, no matter how much we want that killer body (and how much we want to give our man that killer body) we realize starving yourself and spending way too much time in the gym is just unrealistic.

Word of advice to the men out there: Always compliment the women in your life... try to be specific every now and then too. Whether it is your mother, girlfriend, wife, or daughter... compliment them any chance you get... you would be suprised how much just a little comment like "I love your hair today" will help a woman's self esteem. And when the self esteem is good, we're happy... and when we're happy... you're happy... hehe  Grin

LMAO! Mike Your AWFUL!!

I agree 100% with Sky. You can't imagine how true most of those statements about esteem and eating disorders is..... I went from 150 to 100 in 3 months starving, puking and spending hours at the gym...and then one day I woke up! Angry  Those statistics make me feel much better. We should all just be proud of who we are. Our men love us for it and if they don't too bad for them!

I have never posted- only come on here to look around on occasion...but couldn't resist this topic.  SkyHigh you are so right.  We need to be more accepting of ourselves, and our bodies, so that we can pass it on to the next generation of women.  I have realized that, as unfortunate as it is, I cannot shield my two young daughters from billboards or magazines with stick thin women, but what I can do (and trust me- its a work in progress!) is show them what a real woman looks and acts like. One who can laugh with their kids, swim with them without being concerned about cellulite, cook for them (and eat with them!).  And okay, occassionally guzzle some beer and burgers w/ the hubby. lol
I hope to be for them what society will never be...

Well, that was my rant for the day.

Later guys.  Wink

Ash, That invisible force you are talking about is more often than not called a "MAN". I see many times some Ahole turns a beutiful girl into someone she never wanted to be. I agree you should allways compliment women in your life. Remember without a woman we would'nt be here. Every month should be beutiful womens month. I have never come accross such a beutiful being.

Wow this is a good subject.........all my teen and 20's saw myself at 110 to 120.........now that i am older (and somewhat wiser) I am not stuck in that image of what others say is the "norm".  I really like myself  so much more now and all my close friends and family can see, and I'm much happier and enjoy life..........cuz I am who I am whether I am "skinny" or "curvy"(which back in the day was considered quite the thing..) So love yourself ........your true self and if ya got a good man so will he...............LOL
