I hope everyone will share some stories from Rodman IV.

First, Everyone I saw seemed to be on their best behavior.  We should have left a good impression on the Rangers and FHP.

My son and I had a great time.  Went on most of the trail ride and would like to say a special thanks to Grizz, Asphalt dragon, sk8rdude and thie group for a great job of tour guiding.

The groups in the pit seemed to have a good time also.

Great job to all those who worked so hard to make this happen

Thank you

We were a little late for the group ride but tryed to make it to the 88 store and about half way there a forest ranger stopped and told us that there was no way to get to the 88 store. They also said that officers was passing out tickets. So we turned back. Did this happen for anyone and did anyone get any tickets. I see that some of you made it to the store.

Hi Yunt2ride,
I rode with Yamahondaman41's group and as we arived we saw an officer in a white blazer pull over a small group of I would say around 8 people. Most of the group were part of what appeared to be the same family. T2 was in our group and asked the mom if they gave them all tickets and she said yes $75. The group was right across the street on the left hand side if you were looking out from the 88 store porch. We waited until the officer had gone and went right out of the store and onto the first trail we came to avoid getting a ticket to.

hiyas! had a great time out there, nice meeting folks who I have not met before, and seeing those who I do know!

GrizzlySP, his friend and son and I, took off from the Salt Springs area and rode up to Rodman, I couldn't believe how many vehicles were out there  and people still at the pit area! we got up that way about 11:30am +/-, we ran in Flblaster and Girlieblazer down on the SW side of Lake Delancey and went back up to the pit area with them for a while. We were working our way back down to the 88 store, we came across some folks (Zilla954 and friends) on the trail, they were told us that rangers and sherrif were at the 88 store possibly ticketng and running people away. It started raining, so we wound up riding back on the east side of 19 n/e of salt springs area until about 4pm. some great trails over that way. sorry I missed the gang! We had a great time tho too!

Went to go ride today with Budman, It'sMyQuad, and Mudbug, got everything ready, started the quad, reset my odometer, when I go to pull it off the trailer I smell somehting burning, I look at the display on my quad and it's off but the quad was running, turnd off the key, quad is now dead...must have a short someplace that I now have to find...dang it!

mud? found plenty of it yesteday! went down this one trail that started to turn into a river!

Props to AsphaltDragon with his screen/projector setup to show the pictures to everyone there and shooting/showing the vids..(get with me!)

Another great time.. To list all the names will be to long..
So it was great to see new and old faces and getting to know the old faces even better.... Grin now i can almost put the screen name to the face... i am bad with names...

We had the experience on the way back my cousin flipped his blue raptor and put a softball size hole in the front tire ... But luckly he was not injured,, only his pride   Grin Grin Grin
so a BIG thanks goes out to the girl on the quad that towed him back..
It would be hard to pull him on mine or my wife's sportbike nothing to hitch to ...
She said, she was not on the site but read about our ride,,, so if you read this Thanks again....

Oh and thanks Ida for the little spin friday around your hood,, I will be back to check the rest of that area out,,, ((Nice trails)) Grin Grin  we would have rode there today but when i woke up there was no way i was riding in temps below 55...

Can't wait for the next one it was fun...

Thanks.  I had a great time leading our little group on the round about trip to the 88.  I think our groups was a perfect size and mix of riders.  sorry we dont have many pics to post, we were too busy riding.

The most important thing was that we finished with all the folks we started with, and no one got hurt.  by far this was the best riding i have been able to do since i moved to florida and great folks too.

I'll let ya know next time I head up there...just as soon as i replace the shaft boot on my quad.  seems that one of the trees had it in for me.  it was well worth it.

Had a GREAT time met lots of good people. Thanks to all who took groups out and back that's a lot of riders to look after. Looks like we sure got the local park rangers and law enforcement attention! They were only doing their job I guess. Thanks again JJamesbar, Grizz, Flblaster, Girlieblazer, and everyone I can't remember all the names.

Well I enjoyed camping, meeting new people and riding in the pit for the group pic. My wife got sick Friday on the way there and was sick until Sat. night. I did not feel comfortable leaving her at camp, so I did not ride. I will be at the next one to ride. We did make new friends !!!  Grin Grin

Man what a ride!  I only had 14 in my group but made good time. 59.6 miles round trip with a 15.7mph moving average.  I had a great time riding you you guys.  Thanks Dreth & T2Raptor for letting me have a taste of what a real sport quad will do!  Definitely more than I can handle at my age Shocked

Our timing was great.  We got rained on a little bit just South of Eureka Dam but were sitting at 88 Store for the worst of it then man what great riding conditions after the rain.  Too bad Lake Delancy to Rodman did not get any.  Glad I was leading!!!

Looking forward to the next one.  Dreth & T2, I'll have the Warrior rebuilt and a new clutch by then so maybe I can pick the pace up some!

What a great day of rideing and meeting people. My son who has had to lisenten to me about this ride for 2 months, now knows why I talk about and stay on this site so much. We had a really good day. We started to the 88 store 2 diff. times with Chuck_Norris and his family but had teuble both times with the bike my son was rideing. Needed to clean out the carb. got a lot of help from a number of people that I don,t even know ther names (shame on me). Big thanks to the guy that let us use his starter fluid it did the job and my son was able to ride the rest of the day.

Let's do it again, Jim [smiley=BigSmile.gif]

I had a great time.  Met a bunch of new people and tried to make it the 88 store.  We did pretty good being that none of us have ever been there.  We got right around the corner and bumped into the same ranger for the third time in one day.  I managed to put about 45 miles on my bike without running out of gas(500cc 2 stroke).  Did anyone find my Yamalube?  Then somehow I tossed my chain and it jammed between my sprocket and shifter.  My day ended piece of my engine case the size of a half dollar laying in the sand.  Thanks to the guy on then Raptor for towing me back!  Still had a good time though.  It was well worth the two months of hype!

This story rated G for General Audiences.

I got to see a papa bear (aka Da-Mtg-Man) protecting his cubs!

There we were on Friday, during the warmup for Rodman IV, at least five miles deep into the dark forest when we stopped at a nice little playground complete with a jump and everything for the big bears and a nice little trail up a hill and around a tree for the little bears.  Well after a little while one of two jack-a$$es who were far far from home (Michigan) thought that just because they were there first that the little bears were going the wrong direction.

Papa bear didn't do anything the first time or even the second.  On the third time papa bear stopped the jack-a$$ and politely asked him if he didn't think he was endangering the lives of the little bears.  To everyone's amazement the jack-a$$ told papa bear the wrong answer to his question about riding directions and tried to continue down the wrong path! Shocked Shocked Shocked

Papa bear, now nose to nose with the jack-a$$ explained to him what would happen to his head if he still insisted on going the wrong direction Wink.

Now this was either the bravest or dumbest jack-a$$ I have ever seen.  He still did not take papa bear's advice.  By now the jack-a$$ and papa bear had gotten the full attention of an angry pack of wolves that quickly surrounded papa bear and the jack-a$$.  I think this was about the time that the 2nd jack-a$$ came over with a little old T-handle in his and and told the 1st jack-a$$ that he did not think that maybe it was such a good idea to ride in that direction while surrounded by papa bear and an angry pack of at least a  dozen wolves Wink

Finally the 1st jack-a$$ saw the err in his directions and decided that maybe the direction the little bears were riding was good after all.  That made all the difference in the world and by the time papa bear and his cubs and the angry pack of wolves were leaving I think I saw papa bear shaking hands with the two jack-a$$es right before we headed on down the trail.  And everyone lived to ride another day.

The End.
