As most know by now the racing was rained out after the first heat was complete (except for the mc class).   Thanks to all 35 entries who made it out and the families that put up with those of us who love to race. I heard alot of praise for the track conditions and the facilities and as a reminder to all of you the SFTL will race there again Sept 22, 2007 and that race will be a DOUBLE POINTS RACE.  By rule, in the event a race cannot be completed, a race is considered complete and is scored by the last green flag lap completed,  therefore points were awarded based on how each rider finished in their first heat. By contrast, when Eastbay was rained out a few months ago, a makeup date was created because there weren't any green flag laps run.
As reminder the next race is Eastbay Saturday night Aug 25. This is race #8 of the SFTL schedule. The fees are the same as last time which are:
$10 gate fee 7 and up
$30 race fee non SFTL member
$25 race fee SFTL member

Also.........

I have received some feedback on the new SFTL Sign in sheets.
I will revise the sheets so there is one for NEW members and another that ALL racers will fill out on race day. Both forms will be on the SFTL webpage.

A big fat thanks to Liz and Crystal for working the booth for Gina and I...
Liz has a new system for lineups. Hopefully she will be at Eastbay to show Gina and I how it works... Grin

Thanks again Dave for letting Travis run both classes. Even though it was only one heat
Travis realizes how hard he will have to work to run with you guys.
It was a great experience for him thanks to all.

Travis is welcome to run both and from my view Sat night he did a great job and was even right up there peaking under the leader for the lead. I had a good view of the action since we were all pretty tight together those last few laps of the heat. The next heat and the main would probably have been real fun but we'll have to wait a month to see how it turns out.
Despite the rain shortened night , we still had 3 new members join the SFTL. One new member is a MC rider and two are ladies! The ladies class has really taken off!
Anyone know what happened to Bamaquad and that crew? I heard they saw some of us run at the last SFTL points race at Ocala and then decided they couldn't compete with the some of the SFTL riders. Is this true?

Not true, our last race is September 8th & after that I will be down for sure. Thumbs Up
I started to come to Valdosta on the 11th, but I decided to promote our race on the 25th instead.Hopefully I will make it down on the 22nd @ Valdosta.

Actually I was kinda glad ya'll didn't make the trip due to the rain we didn't want or need but we'll be back Sept 1 at the Jasper track and Sept 22 at Valdosta. These are the last two dates at tracks north of Ocala for this season. Hope you guys get a chance to come race. Smiley

Cry ribs take 4ever to heal .anyways i was trying to get back in time to run some different tracks besides tbowl this year, like jasper or valdosta but i guess from what you guys are saying sept 22 is my last chance at those 2 tracks? that sucks, from the photos they look sweet. oh well theres always next year. if i go to valdosta the 22  where is there to sleep or could i make the drive back to ocala that night? i dont trust leaving my quad in the back of my truck at a motel,or am i just paranoid. also is there any other races at east bay this year after the 22nd?  im losing my mind ,this sucks waiting to heal,i guess next time i will lock em down instead of going for the hole........not
Yes Sept 1 and Sept 22 are the last northern dates this season. From Valdosta back to Ocala is probably 2 1/2 to 3 hours but if you need a place to secure your quad usually someone has room inside their trailer to lock it up overnight. You can camp at the track for free or stay at Best Western one exit south.
The last Eastbay race this season is Aug 25.
I had heard about someone breaking ribs at the TB race that was rained out a few weeks ago but didn't know who. Wasn't someone else injured too? Shooting through a fleeting hole usually only works in a full bodied car but when your ride has tires that stick out....ouch! Cry Hope you heal up soon so you don't miss many more. Smiley

thanks for the info killer. yea a couple other guys had flesh wounds that same pileup that day. i guess because im on a stock bike and the heats are so short i thought i needed to go for that hole ya know.i cant even afford a pipe so i have to make up for it in tha corners and i was wide open coming out of 4 when my tire got clipped.they said i looke like superman flying 30 ft down the front strait.but then anyone who rides or climbs w/me knows i can be a little unpredictable.you know how it is,you always think you can win.are you racing at tb this weekend?your the blue banshee right.iwas the guy on the black stock 450r in the vet class......maybe i should get some more under jersey protection also lol. this weekend will be a month sense i wrecked and i still cant sleep lying down!only 2 or 3 hrs at a time of sleep for a month.im just a little on edge! Angry but i will be back sooner or later.everyone seems really cool Cool  by the way about how many people run in sftl that live here in ocala? next year i would like to join
I would like to be at TB this weekend but my motor is out for a rebuild, got to be ready for Eastbay the 25th so I bought some more ponies while at the same time trying to address some issues. Besides, last time I raced a non-points race I tore up so I learned my lesson not to race anything else when it's real close to an upcoming points race. I really enjoy TT and would like to do that more but I need another bike so I can leave the Banshee strictly for Flat Track.
It's not too late to join the league since you get real good food at the banquet and a shot at some giveaways. The chest protector I have is made by Nemesis and sold by Rocky Mountain for about 80 bucks. It is hot but I feel safer in it than a standard chest protector.
