Hey guys, I need some advice as in what to do. Here is the question,
Say you came across a 4 wheeler. The 4 wheeler is being sold really really cheap but has no title. The guy who is selling it now bought it from his friend who filed bankruptcy. Dont know if the bankruptcy went through or not but the guy who is selling the bike now does not have a title. He says he would give a bill of sale with the purchase of the 4 wheeler. Ran the Vin# both through local police officer and local DMV. Came back clean NOT STOLEN!! The DMV said that if the seller gives a bill of sale and if he fills out a form they have, they can get a title for the bike. Would it be worth the hassle to go through with it??? or would this come back to bite you in the ass?? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. The bike is real nice and clean but at the same time I would hate to lose my money. Thanks for your input!

The only thing I would worry about is if there is a lean on it. I would stay away.

I agree with you both but the at the same time, at least most of the people I know that have 4 wheelers, they take out a personal loan. That personal loan is filed against the person itself specially for recreational vehicle correct??? I might be wrong but at least that is what I was told. I am only guessing now but if the original owner took out a personal loan, the loan would be filed against the person itself. Now if the original owner financed it through the dealership, well that is a different story. Then yes the bike would have a lien on it. Don't get me wrong, I am just trying to view all the different angles on how this deal can turn sour on me. I am not a shady person because I am a firm believer in Karma!! I am just trying to get as much input from different people and maybe somebody could share their personal experience if they have gone through this before. How would you go about finding out if the bike has a lien on it. Is there a place or phone number or a website one can go to??? Once again thank you for you input
