I don't like what they stand for.... Also if you google it and research them IN DEPTH, not just 1 or 2 sites you will learn some stuff that will make you never want to join. I have too much Christian faith to join. But to each his own. Like Josh said, our Dad and his Dad are both Masons. Our grandfather was pretty high up, might still be, not sure how it works.

It all has to do with what kind of person you are. Im not easily offended. My brother in law and female friends are allways bugging me about that secret handshake stuff,I just say they cant have it. You get out of masonry what you put in it. some folks say that it goes against their christian values... Until now i havent had to do anything  that goes against my christian values. To me it is just  like any other faternety. We are not allowed to talk about politics or religion in a lodge room. through the brothers in my lodge ive been able to help other poeple out that were not even masons (figure that). There are some things that i dont agree with in masonry, when it comes to that i just walk the other. just like anything else in life.

Sounds like an excuse for a bunch of guys to get together and drink without there wives there to nag them.  I do the same thing, but call it hunting!  They are similar to the extent that occasionally I kill an animal, and the Masons occasionally sacrifice one! Evil  j/k
