when are we going riding?

To start, I'm near that point in my boy scout carrer. I've been pondering this idea but never got around to going thorough with it, what i need is for someone to put me in touch with someone who is high in the FWC down here in the Broward/Palm Beach area. My idea was to put permant trash cans out at Holylands in the parking area along with a every couple hundred feet down the levee to help relieve the trash issue we have out there. I ride holylands alot as is and i was there when we had the clean up ride. The only issue i have come up with is a)drilling into the rocky levee, I figure a gas powered auger should do the job, and b) trash disposal

"Next, note that the service project is to be "...helpful to any religious institution, any school, or your community...", which means you need to be discerning while selecting a project. You are looking for a project to do for an organization that is non-profit, meaning they provide services to the community at large for purposes other than making a profit. No projects are allowed for profit-making organizations."
I think i could say the project is for the atv community which is a non profit organization but don't really provide a service, where i could say that i'm doing the project help out FWC officers.

Also i know this won't be a cheap project as i plan to use expensive tools along with high quality materials such as metal trash cans with removable liners that i know are not cheap, for this i can do some kind of fundraising of any kind such as donations or some kind of fundraisier to make sure the project can be done, or even be sponsered by a buisness.

What I need to do first is establish a price range on all my tools/equipment that I will need for my project along with the costs of my material before i'm able to even start a donation or fund raisier. If any one knows any one that has heavy equipment that may be needed for this project or knows any one that may have some kind of discount or even be willing to donate supplies for my project.

So far this is just the idea being put out in the air for any type of help anyone on this site is willing to give to me, i would love to make this like a day thing sometime in the fall where we won't be out sweating to death and make this like a cool project and ride for such a great group of people on this site.

Open to all offers on how to modify or add anything to what i think might be a great project, and thank all of you who read this or give any type of opinion on what you think about this

Ash chuck said, that's awesome.

I personally don't know the information that you are looking for, but I will ask my husband to look at your post when he gets home, he may know something, or perhaps direct you in the area.

Again Awesome!!!!  Need more like you....

That sounds like a lot of hard work and effort.

Why don't you just get your parents to buy you a Play Station 3?

Just a thought here, What about the metal 55 gal drums for the "trash cans" ?? they are always easy to come by, and cheap for that matter, and most peaple dont care to try and steal them.

NICE idea by the way !!!! I hope you achieve your goal !!!!!!

I know how that can be. I was in the boyscouts when I was in like 3rd grade, the scout leader didnt do anything, we went absolutely nowhere. He was a jerk too.
