Where in Ocala is Rodman Dam?  Can I go to Big Scrub and go to Rodman from there?  Is it practical to go to Rodman if I live south of Ocala?

I have never been but I know Rodman is way up at the top of Ocala Forest and you would probably need lots of fuel to make it. I think da_mtg_man has been there so you may want to send him an im for directions?

Topo map of Rodman - http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?z=17&n=3264525.00004234&e=421368.99999997&datum=nad83    just choose a larger map size and scale to zoom out. From the map I looked at it must be like 40 miles away. I know there is a ride there listed in the Group Rides Section.

Rodman is a great starting point into ONF. Just south of Palatka. You can make it to Big Scrub in about 45 min Trailering Quads. Rodman has plenty of parking and a nice large sand pit but not to many hills, But plenty of trails for short or long trail rides. I reccomend that you bring a GPS if you plan on traveling to far away from the pit because some of the trails out there look alike and criss cross through each other, And remember to stay off numbered roads, The Green trucks wont hesitate to pull you over and give you a ticket

Yeah I see, it seems too far to be wandering through the woods for me at least.  Does 588 take you to Rodman by any chance?  Huh  BTW, I'm leaving for Ocala tommorow, so if you're going to respond, now's the time.  Thanks fellas!
