To All the IDIOTS in the Okee Prairie Yesterday!

When we were heading home yesterday afternoon, at the corner of 724 and Peavine, there were about 10-15 quads being VERY stupid! on the pavement.  [smiley=Angry.gif]
Now come on people..... you drive all the way out there to do wheelies on the pavement and drag race? and of course "No Helmets"  That is a blind corner without a stop sign, Good luck when it takes a hour to get medical help. Lots of traffic goes by there.

Just a tip, if you get caught on the pavement there is a BIG FINE and possible impound.
Please go and ride in the areas that you can, before it all goes away!
The last couple of times we have been out we have seen lots of groups riding down the middle of the pavement obviously newbie's out there.
There has been a number of serious accidents lately (I wonder why)
Also this past weekend was opening of "Open Gun Season" which means stay out of the NW and SW areas during the day.
And when you have Hunting Season you have "THE MAN" They are undercover [smiley=Shocked.gif] most of the time and if you don't know them personally you will never know they are the law.
Please be considerate of the areas that are left to ride, and....I don't care what you think of me....Therefore I don't care to ride with YOU either!

Well said. We fight to get more and more OFF-ROAD areas to ride and here people are riding on the road(without helmets) this is a prime example of why this sport has alot of negative publicity.......

i totally agree with you 100% kawgirl.  i was out there with mike and chris the other weekend as you know, and there were some dirt bikes, a few banshees, and a yfz (probably 5-6 total) in the streets......

Good point JD.  Of course I am sure dreth likes the power rush of "secretly videoing" people and he only does what works for him, even if it is harmful to the sport and other riders.  Unless he is a cop then he needs to let other people worry about how they run there own lives and not threaten us like this.

I totally agreee that this is one of the best places I have ever discovered to go riding..Now, to have idiots ruin it by playing stupid and dangerous games on the road is completely insane.

What ever happened to setting an example for young people that are learning to ride and respect the sport of off-roading. When somebody gets hurt or killed it will make it impossible for anyone to go riding there. All this kind of stuff does is make it tougher for groups like ours to get more land to go riding on. If you enjoy the sport, respect it and others that participate in it.

If I ever caught my son doing this kind of stuff, he would lose his ATV...  Maybe that's the lesson that has to happen here...

I found a really cool place to ride, lots of trails and hardly see anybody all day. The problem is that I can't talk about it on here because of the idiots will show up and ruin it. I would love to ride with you guys, but I will continue to ride alone because i don't want to lose my spot, it sucks it has to be this way.

I know that feeling. I used to have an awesome spot out in Clermont (I know, I talk about it WAY too much, but it was bad azz). It was never too crowded, but got shut down QUICK after someone got really hurt (fighting). Anyway, now, if I ever come across a spot to ride (whether its good or bad), I'll tell maybe one or two people and make em swear to secrecy, lol. I'd rather ride with one person, then ride with 10 and have the place shut down.. sorry.. but I will not call attention to any riding area I find... Cant afford to lose more places.

Yes, many of us do have some places where we ride in secrecy..

I used to have a place like that right here in Jupiter, Fl, but some MX guys started riding on the road to get there and the cops got mean..

Now, the place has been posted. I agree that we all have our secret places to ride....But it's a few idiots that ruin it for the masses..

I was out there on Sunday and saw a big group of sport atv riders riding all crazy. There was a couple of guys on Banshees riding double and haulin a$$ with no helmets. Now I don't ride with a helmet but I'm not doing 80 MPH either. It helped me remember that common sense isn't that common. It would be a shame if irresponsible people ruin that spot. That was my first time out there on Sunday and it's a great spot to ride. I'll be out there again soon.
