Thanks SFWMD, sure would like to ride the lake bottom.

I have a good video from CH 7 I'll post up later. We only need 60" of rain to fix it....haha

Friday should bring some big rain. Cross your fingers.

Yea but Jack, once we get the rain, all SFWMD will do again is drain it.  Everytime I hear a report on the Lake it really ticks me off, oh they are crying the drought blues, when will the media ever report the friggin truth.  Don't we all recall less than a year ago the Glades were closed to due HIGH water levels.  The HIGH water levels in the Glades was due to the fact that the State was lowering the level of the Lake due to fear of the levies.  Fix the friggin levies, and leave the Lake alone.

Had they not drained the Lake, the levels would be just under 12 feet at the minimum.

And they say we hurt wildlife, how about all the friggin fish and wildlife the killed.  Heck there was actually a fire in the Lake....

Just read the article you posted, atleast they said part of the truth.

That nit-wit from SFWMD stating is nature's way telling us we need to rethink how we use water, how about this, it's natures way of saying STOP DRAINING THE LAKE and pumping it to the ocean Bang Head

Does anyone remember when they tried to close down Sawgrass in 1978. I was in a school with the niece & nephew of the old owners. back then the owner did a murder suicide thing with him & his wife and the vulture developers homed in on Sawgrass. They had a huge benefit concert & CDB was there. My class did a fundraiser & an art contest to help save sawgrass. I drew a pic of a blue airboat running the glades & got 3rd place. I stood on stage with Charlie Daniels when they gave me an award & a sawgrass tshirt. That was my 15 secs of fame. But back to the post, the developers have high stakes in dry land west of Palm Beach all the way down thru Ft Lauderdale. If the glades are dry & the water is diverted, they can build & populate the areas. It all comes down to money. We pregnant dog about Lk Kissimmee getting dry & then Okeechobee is full then they drain the Big O & the glades are too wet, then they just flush it to the ocean. A vicious cycle. Thanks a lot Army Corp of Engineers. Thanks you sooo freaking much!!!!!!!!!
