A Thursday-morning brushfire in Citrus County may have been set intentionally.
A mosquito control helicopter pilot said he saw an ATV driving away from a fire at the remote Flying Eagle Ranch Preserve in the eastern part of the county.
Pilot Luis Sanchez said while flying overhead he saw what appeared to be smoke from a freshly lit fire.
"So I decided to fly over to get a better look," Sanchez said. "And as soon as I got over I identified it as a fire. I turned and followed the four-wheeler. He was going at a pretty high rate of speed heading towards the woodline when I lost him."
