Well the Hurricanes and elections have stalled our efforts. We now have two new commissioners on board who have to be briefed...and everything is still very busy with the aftermath of the Hurricanes. I am being told by the airport director we might not be able to bring this back to the board until March or April. Once I have been given a meeting date I will post it. We will have to show our support if there is any chance of this going through. In the mean time I have requested appointments with the new commissioners to bring them up to speed. We lost our main supporters Cliff Barnes and John Bruhn fromt he board.

we cant play at the next meeting! we need a thousand people or more to flood the place so they get the point, not a hostile showing, just a numbers showing. all they see is dollar signs and the more people they see in that meeting the more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ they see and there is power in numbers, the majority rules, you know all the sayings.
SPREAD THE WORD THAT WE NEED SUPPORT! ITS OBVIOUS BY ALL THE CLOSED DOWN RIDING SPOTS.
This can only get worse if we dont make a stand.

I'll post as soon as I know something about the meeting date. It might not hurt for poeple to start e-mailing the commissioners again and asking when this will be brought back up before the board. The way it was left was there was going to be another meeting before the board just for the zoning change to allow this to go to the next step. then the hurricanes hit. Some of the comms. I feel hope this will just go away..It probably would help if peopel got on the county web site and started sending e-mails to all the commissioners asking when it will be brought back up. Dreth is very right about approaching this properly..We already have people against it and don't need to give them anymore ammunition. We desperately need this facility just look at the other post about the Okeechobee Praire being closed this weekend.

http://www.stlucieco.gov/bocc2/email.htm

Here is the link for the commission. the site being looked at is 750 acres on the north side of the airport. It is currently a cattle lease. In apprx. 10 years it is slated to be the north side industrial park. the site goes from the north side of the airport to Indrio Road and borders the Savannahs preservation area. During the initial phase of this a primary computer model of the property was done and had 30 miles of trail plus a 50 acre scramble area..also had apprx. 30 acres for parking etc. The plan has already been put into a book that has been distributed to the commissioners prior to Hurricane time. The key now is to get it brought back up before the board before interest is lost and the oppurtunity goes to the way side. We already had some opposition tot he project claiming noise a problem. We idd a sound test already witht he rsults in the book. Noise isn't a problem.

LilRedneckGirl-There isn't any place legal at this time to ride in Saint Lucie County unless it is yur property..Closest is the 5a area which is on other post on this site as well as River Ranch if your are a property owner. There was a nice place in Okeechobee but it was shut down according this past weekend according to post on this site.
