I think the one you are referring to is:

Ocala Forest Campground
26301 S.E. County Hwy 42
Umatilla, FL 32784
(352) 669-3888

I’ve been planning on staying there soon. Let me know how it is if you stay there and if you can ride from the campground. I don’t think you can.

Hope this helps

We have been going to Ocala Forest Campground since '81' and it is nice , has game room , pool 2 bathroom facilities (but not any a/c). We could ride in and out of the camp, at a reasonable speed, with railbuggys and ATV's. But you may want to check first cuz John has had many who don't adhere to the rules the past few years, thus causing a good thing to stop............

ATV4ME

When you rode out of the campground did you ride out to Hwy 42 or did you have direct access to the forest?

Thanks Dan

Warning!  In the season there is a lot of people, our ATV Club stayed there awhile back in August we had a blast, you do have to ride down the side of 40 for about 2 miles to get to the trail, lots of glass and booby traps along the way.  There is a gas station/store right before the trail.  I would not recommend kids on the side of the road, it's a very narrow path.

Last time we called the owner said NO ATV's or BIKES!  I guess some kid was doing donuts in front of a house and pissed off the homeowner and it got back the the campground.  Angry  But we told him it was just the 2 of us and we would be angels and he said ok.  That was 2 years ago.

Pics of our club there:

GOOD LUCK!  Maybe someone should visit him in person?
