How many are actually paying attention to this?

There are African Americans, Mexican Americans,
Asian Americans, Arab Americans, Native Americans, etc.
And then there are just Americans.

You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction.
You Call me "White boy," "Cracker," "Honkey,"
"Whitey," "Caveman" .. And that's OK.

But when I call you, Nigger, Kike, Towel head, Sand-nigger,
Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or Chink ... You call me a racist.

You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you,
So why are the ghettos the most
dangerous places to live?

You have the United Negro College Fund. You have Martin Luther
King Day. You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day. You

Have Yom Hashoah You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi You have the
NAACP.

You have BET.
If we had WET (White Entertainment Television) . We'd be racists.

If we had a White Pride Day . You would call us racists.

If we had White History Month . We'd be racists.

If we had any organization for only whites to "advance" OUR lives..

We'd be racists.

We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of

Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce.
Wonder who pays for that?

If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships..
You know we'd be racists. There are over 60 openly proclaimed
Black Colleges in the US , yet if there were "White colleges"

THAT would be a racist college.

In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching

For your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights,

You would call us racists.

You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're
Not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride

You call us racists.

You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer
Shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug-dealer running
From the law and posing a threat to society .

I am proud.

The truth does hurt.... but it is soooo very true I am not a racist by birth and I was not raised to be so, but I am tired of the double standards !!!

sorry i was not trying to turn this in to a political site. I was out the other night with the guys and a very pretty black girl asked me to dance and i declined. I mean how would my wife have felt if she heard i was dancing with someone else? I would never put her in that posistion. She threw out the racist card at me,which i thought was funny at first as i had 2 of my friends there were black.Then i got pissed off and we all started talking about this issue.
Those were the thoughts we came up with amazingly enough that i remembered it all to wite it down the next morning.

This is a good conversation piece. Although, once a particular group or race are considered a minority, they will enjoy and receive benefits that the Non-minority (white) group or race will not enjoy. There is also what is called reverse discrimination. That is when someone is more qualified for a position or advancement, and is passed over for someone who is a minority who is less qualified. That is the law. This has gotten out of hand. We are going the wrong direction on this. It not only hurts the Non-Minority, but hurts the minority people as well. Good luck on this one discussion. My .02 worth.

I tell you what. I have been on this site for a while and lately all the racial stuff that has been coming up is making me sick. Let me just start by saying this. What happened to Don Imus was uncalled for. Everyone makes mistakes and what he said was inappropriate but he should not have lost his job over it. In fact, what he did was over and beyond what he needed to do to apologize but yet he still lost his job. If something more important in the media was going on during that time, the Don Imus story would not even exist.
As far as this thread is concerned, many of the comments made bother me. Many of the comments state YOU this and YOU that. I for one disagree with MANY of the statements. I have never once sneered or snickered in a White person's direction and called them derogatory names and many of my black friends don't either. It is ignorant. There is no reason to sling racial epithets at people. If a person doesn't want to be perceived as a racist then they shouldn't act like one.

Violence is violence. It happens everywhere. Contrary to what people may believe, there are white ghettos, black ghettos, spanish ghettos and so fourth. Violence is usually rampant in these parts mainly because of high drug use and trafficking as well as the lack of education.

Organizations such as the United Negro college fund were designed to help black people many years ago because black people were not getting aid for colleges like their white counterparts. Martin Luther King day? That holiday is a joke. Most people don't even recognize it or observe it. Black history month was created because you would be hard pressed to find information about black history even in the school history books. It just isn't discussed much if at all.

Did you know that BET is not even black owned? It is owned by a white corporation.  Being a person that attended a black college, these schools have been around for decades. Most back in a time when there was segregation. Blacks just needed a place to get an education. We didn't have the luxury that we do now to just go to any college. By the way, take a trip to a black college and you will see many different races on these campuses.

The Million Man March was supposed to be organized to promote self awareness among black men and relay the message of being a man. Things like taking care of your family, being leaders, erasing black on black crimes, etc. Rights were a topic because it is something that black people deal with on a constant basis.

If someone is white and proud then they should let it be known! Black people may sometimes announce that the are "Black and Proud" because many have been led to believe that they are an inferior race.  It's just a way to pick your head up after it has been beaten down.

The carjack comment got to me the most. I have never car jacked or robbed anyone, and neither has any other African American I associate with. Not every black person a cop beats down is a drug dealer. Whether people want to believe it or not, there are racist cops. This is one of the reasons why I don't care too much for cops. I have been harassed and pulled over several times just because I "fit a description". I can not tell you what it feels like to be pulled over by two white cops and have them throw all of your belongings onto the shoulder of the road and leave it there to supposedly look for drugs and then tell you have a nice day. How about 3 white cops telling you to strip down to your underwear, (yes, just boxers) with there guns drawn on you saying "We know you have drugs on your person". You can't even imagine the humiliation and anger you feel as they drive away snickering.

I just feel like we all need to just stop with all of this stupid race crap from the Blacks, Whites, Spanish, etc. Why can't we just love one another like the bible says and that be that? I have MANY friends and I could care less about what race they are, all I see is the person.

   I agree there is no room for racism.I've been in many situations with people of all genders.You can't hold a whole race accountable for one, or a large majorities action.

jujulo700 I do know how it feels to be pulled over by cops and have your car searched.@18 me and a friend had gone to tenn to see my girlfriend who had moved away with her parents,on the way home just back across the FL line we were puled over by two cop cars four officers it was 4:00 in the morning and we were in a SAAB 9000 that was only three years old.We were asked to get out of the car and told it was going to be searched ,two searched the vehicle two searched us and asked us the same questions over and over.I was half asleep and put my hands in my pocket (after being searched and just standing there)and I just about got shot for it.After their search was done and all our clothes dirty and clean ones were spread in the grass on the side of the road they just drove off leaving us to pick up our belongings on the side of I75 in the pitch dark.They found nothing of coaurse we had nothing ,they said they were suspicious becouse we were so young driving an expensive car.I told my friend later I was freaking out becouse I have seen  the show cops and they always find something I figured they were gonna plant something on us .He admitted he was crappin his pants too.At the time we were both humiliated scared and pissed off so I know how you feel.Now its just a funny story we tell of the good ole days.I am white and have had a couple of black friends who were great people,never even thought about the whole color thing unless someone else would make a sour comment and it would make me made becouse the people making the comments were low life and did not realize my friends were hard working decent people who made a positive contribution to society.I think it is bad to caterogize a race as a whole .Like I said there are many black people I would be proud to call my friends as well as whites mexicans puertoricans asians and of course little people.There are also many whites mexicans puertoricans blacks and asians that I believe should be in jail or are in jail.If people could just look past color and judge people based on their individual actions this world would be a better place for all.I can say we all sometimes "RACIAL PROFILE" If im in a rough neighborhood and a big black guy walks up to me I will be nervous but I would feel the same way if I ended up near some arian white power camp and some big white bald guy was headed for me hell ive been nervous in areas around pinellas park thats normall feelings .It is when we are in a safe situation and we pass judgement based on color or race when we need to be corrected for our actions.
