Imus taken off the air for saying " nappy headed hos" . And its considered
"racial"? What is this country coming to? The mans show is parody and common sense humor. This is just another Jesse " the shake down artist" Jackson and Al " I have no credibility" Sharpton muscling nutless corporations .
Maybe we should boycott NBC, CBS, and the rest of the nutless companies , to show them to stand up to these extortionists

I was just writing a quick article on this thing for school:

Don Imus was recently suspended by the two networks over what people said were “racial comments” to the Rutgers Women’s Basketball Team. Although the comments were wrong and un called for I do not think they were worth his job for several reasons. First of all, the definition of Racism is “The inherent belief in the superiority of one race over all others and thereby the right to dominance”. Nowhere in his few comments did he directly refer to them being of African American ethnicity nor did he say that he was superior to them because he was of a different race. Therefore his comments were not racial. They were more then likely directed to the fact that they were female rather then race. But the “reverend” (neither have a church) Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton accused him of all of the above and called for his resignation. Second of all, this was a direct violation his rights. Last time I checked, Freedom of Speech referred to everyone. Not whom Al Sharpton and people say can have it. He made a comment that was insensitive but yet it is his own opinion on his own show. Nobody should be allowed to tell him that he can no longer do that simply because he said what he did. But he said it on a nationally syndicated program so it shouldn’t matter right? Wrong. Nobody made you listen or watch his show. If you don’t like his comments then don’t listen to it. Another beef I would like to address concerning Al Sharpton and company is this: When you turn on BET or MTV and you see all these videos with black rappers saying much worse then what Imus said, and using profanity racial slurs like nouns, you don’t see Jessie Jackson at their door. You don’t see Al Sharpton calling for their songs to be boycotted. So I want to know whom exaticly these two are defending the African American community from? Something tying into that is what about the sponsors. I would like to know if all of his sponsors that left him when all this happened advertise on MTV or BET. If they do then they are a bunch of lying twofaced hypocrites. It’s pretty obvious by now that I am angered and saddened by the firing of Don Imus. I’m not endorsing what he said. I don’t think anybody is including himself. He has apologized numerous times and offered to meet with the Rutgers personally in private. He has done everything he could in this situation but I guess ratings trump values and rights so either way we probably wont be hearing from Imus ever again because he voiced his opinion in a “free if your allowed” country…

we live in a double standard society. the colored folk can drop the "N" bomb on each other and degrade their woman in rap, but it's an eternal sin if good ole whitey does it. i don't like it regaurdless of who says it, but there is a double standard. the comments didn't seem racial to me, wrong, but not racial. now that the charges againt the duke lacrosse players have been dropped due to lack of evidence and false statements. is al sharpton, jesse jackson, and the like going to appologize to them for raking them over the coals without due process?Huh yeah right. but good ole AS expected imus to appologize, which he did. it's BS.

I believe there is even a rap group called "Nappy Headz", of course consisting of all black guys. When I first heard about this, i thought the comment was funny. Which is what most of his fan base probably thought as well. His job is to please his audience! Plus, lets face it we all have different hair textures...and pointing out someones short comings is what comedians do! Black comedians rip into white guys in the audience all the time. I had a feeling Imus was going to get fired over this, supposedly he lost a lot of his sponsers.

Totally agree, such a double standard.

Did anyone watch wife-swap last night, if so, then you know what I am talking about.  They had this black couple, who admits the are totally prejudice.  It just went on and on.  They even said that Katrina was the doing of the White House, to get rid of the Black Man.  Come on, give me a break. Could you imagine if a white man went on there and said that!

Growing up in South Florida, my mom raised me to love & respect everyone, regardless.  I raise my son the same way.  I have a had few blacks, actually admit to my face, that they raise their children to "hate the white man".  That's just wrong.

Stop being the victim!  You know, I came from a very hard part of town in Miami.  Growing up, I had the same temptations placed in front of me, but my mom made sure that I stayed on the straight & narrow, get a good education, and make something of my life.  I know of many childhood friends, black & white, regardless of color, never make it out of there.  They CHOOSE the wrong path.

Yes, what happen w/slavery was so wrong!  Telling a black person that they have to sit at the back of a bus, wrong!  What the KKK did, was wrong!  But you know what, what happen to the Jews, Wrong!  What happen to the American Indian, way wrong!  You can go on and on, but you make the choice to be the victim, or over come.  Choose to over come.  I am part Cherokee Indian (henceforth cheropride), and I don't see native indians hatred.  No they are smart, they get some big Casinos, and make whole bunch of money.  They choose not to be a victim!

In closing, I think it is just stupid for anyone to be prejudice in America!  What is the definition of an American, we all came from somewhere else.  It is time to move on.  People like Jesse Jackson, the so-called Rev Sharpen, want to keep the black man down, bcz if they didn't, they would not have anything else to talk about!  As for the media, they are really the root cause for all this hatred.

Now they want to go after other talk-show people.  Come on, lets listen to one of their shows, and see how they talk about the white man.  They say they are fighting prejudice, no they are creating it, they are adding the coal to the fire & that's what they want.

You would think after 9-11 American would get of her pity pot, and unite!

Here's a question for everyone that sums up the double standard for whites and blacks today.

Imus refers to the basketball players as "Nappy headed Ho's" not unlike any comment you hear from the mouth of most black athletes in this day and age. Sharpton throws a fit, Jackson capitulates and the entire black community jumps on the band wagon. They pull out the racist crutch again and wave it like a flag.

Now, earlier this year, 21 year old Channon Christian and her 23 year old boyfriend Christopher Newsome (Both UT students) were carjacked by four black men. Newsome was sodomized, shot then his body mutilated and set on fire. Christian was held in an apartment for over 72 hours and repeatedly gang raped until being choked, dismembered with her body being divided into at least 5 garbage bags and scattered around the land. While she was being raped, the subhuman rapists poured drain cleaner into her mouth and down her throat to wash away any DNA. All the while, a sister of one of the men saw Christian being raped and said nothing about it until the men were arrested. All of the men had extensive prior records.

Al and Jesse never raised any Cain. No black organizations offerred an apology, no outrage, no media attention...nothing. In fact, one of the few responses from the black community (namely St. Nicholas Thief and his Black Poverty Speaks organization) was to hold a celebration for the rapists championing the men as "underprivileged blacks that victimize privileged whites".

Now then, imagine this......leave this absolutely true story the same except change the victims to black and the criminals to white. Can you imagine?

Racism is alive and well in the United States. It's biggest perpetrators are people like Sharpton, Jackson and organizations like the NAACP, BET, etc. Don't believe me? The simple test that proves this theory correct is changing colors of these people and organizations. Can you imagine a white Sharpton or Jackson speaking out against blacks the way they currently bash whites? Or how about a NAAWP or WET? Ms. White America?Huh The United Caucasian College Fund? Ivory Magazine?

Need I say more?

I was furious when I first heard about this.
For a few days I was crazy with anger over a double standard.
Then, last night, I had a revelation.
Whatever happend to the level of decency in this country?
Even I have been blind to the moral decay our country is suffering from.
Maybe he gets what he deserves and others will not be so quick to speak on national airwaves with such disrespect.
Funny thing is, if the VT shootings happened last week, Don Imus would still have his job.
Where does it stop? Where does it start?
I know it starts with YOU.
Lead by example.

While I respect every ones opinion, I don't necessarily agree with them. A nation of people cant expect there government to police morality. If our government did it would know longer be considered a true democracy. Considering most people would believe that would be moving near a more Orwellian society. This post was made to basically say........hey this is wrong !! Jesse Jackson can call Jews " HIEMIES" and call NYC " HEIMIE TOWN" with impunity, Sharpton condemns whites for the Tawana Brawley incident and doesn't apologize when its found to be a complete fabrication. Yet as off base and inaccurate as Imus was in his comment , It should not be considered " racial"  ( considering there are also white girls on this  Rutgers team) , in bad taste yes...but not racial.  These people would have you believe they feel the same way about the obvious misogynistic and racist lyrics in rap music............if that was the case wouldn't you hear about some out of work rappers?  This to me is unacceptable. IF these two extortionists are supposed to be watchdogs forthe black community, they are pathetic.  You should be looking for the real evil that looks to destroy your community and that is truly " hateful" instead of demonizing this  man for  comments that are really just in bad taste... nothing more.
