Hey whats up everyone.

My friend just bought an '03 Predator for one of his friends. We test rode it and it ran strong, just didnt want to stay running at an idle. The spark plug was fouled so i bought one to change it.

When he picked it up the battery had died so we couldnt start it. We tryed popping the clutch but with a fouled plug we got no where. We picked up a new battery and its turning over fine now but wont start.

I checked for fuel, we are definitely getting fuel. Then i checked for spark by putting the plug in the wire and touching it to the top of the head and then i tryed the frame. Got no spark either time with either plug.

There is quite a bit of oil in the air filter box and there appears to be a good ammount of gas in the oil. (very runny, smelled like gas...but my hands where also covered in it) Could it have bad ring's on it? It seems to have enough compression to start the bike. the motor feels like it kicks just as hard as my 400 when i hit the start button.

I dont know, oil in the box and fuel in the oil says something is fucked up with the motor. Maybe took it out for a last run and blew something?

The carb was oil free however, but was also not all the way on the motor. We made a list of everything and he's going to talk to her tomorrow so we will see what happened.

Thanks

The oil in the air box probably came from the crankcase breather tube, this is common if the crank case has been over filled. The flywheel has a small metal piece called a key way. It holds the flywheel in place (for timing) these things are cheap and easy to replace. they are often damaged by cheap aftermarket ignitions (rev limiters). Also, check your fuses, I think they are in a black blister pack, can't recall the exact location. If you need more info, go to www.predatorowners.com they will solve your problem for sure. Don't give up on it yet, they are good machines.
