What a difference compared to Sunday. It seemed like a everybody with a quad in Dade and Broward was there. It was a nice day to ride though.

Nice pics, Jack. I saw your post on the other thread and really appreciate the effort you made to pick up around the place. If everybody that went out there did that, we wouldn't have those types of issues anymore. Now if we could just get the idiots to settle down and stop hurting themselves....

If no one complains, it should be OK. The pics are hosted off atvflorida.
I would hate to remake that post at the extreme site!! I will photoshop helmets in.
Only one or two actual riding pics anyway helmetless....

HAHA, they said they were to shoot a shotgun. They tried to make a U at one of the power line turnarounds and got stuck. I said if you don't want a felony, GTF out of there with the scattergun!

The two camps in the pictures are really deep in the swamp, and impossible for mortals to get to. I have no idea who owns them.
I would sure pay big $$$ to buy the two story one! Way better than Big Cypress...well drier anyway....and no pesky neighbors.
Damn lawn looks better than mine!

I'm going to take a ride out there on the weekend at night and see if I can meet the guys who have those cool camps. I have a few friends who say they have had a hell of a time drinking with them in the past.
I still can't believe anyone has a deed out there. I'll bet some FWC guy must be involved..anyway, I'm just glad the fires didn't get them!! Must have been close.

Many Many moons ago you were able to build a camp out in the everglades, the state put a stop to it a long time ago. When they did so, all the camp owners were grandfathered in and signed a lease for the property that they are on. They can build up, but not out. The camp owners do not own the property, but have a lease with the state to care and maintain the property, which pretty much means they have rights to post No Tresspass Signs. Most of the camp owners are pretty cool and welcome people in to hang out and party on the weekends. Lets keep them friendly and stay off the grass, take our trash and respect there property.

They do an excellent job at property upkeep, that is for sure!! I never thought of the lease aspect, that is nice. I wish I had one.
If I remember, it was around 1977 or so..? Same time as the Big Cypress land grab?
I would certainly respect the signs regarding the structures, because I'm sure I wouldn't want to meet the business end of a 12 gauge..which I would fully expect if trying to enter one of those houses.
Thanks for the info.

My cousin Jim owns that camp, his father started it in the early 70's. They are cool guys & spend a lot of time & money to own a camp like that. They are some of the founding members of the Broward County Airboat Club. He drives a track called "Still Killin Time" or a red Diamond Back Airboat called "Rooster". He is a cool guy, but dont mess up his lawn out there or the coolness will end real quick. Oh yeah, that camp has a central air system as well.

I thought about those signs, and came to the conclusion that anyone can put a sign any where they want. The politicians had no problem putting signs in my lawn last week..

Central AC, damn now that is nice. I'd love to know where that water comes from. I drank from that hose and it was better than my well water at home. That camp is so cool I want to donate something to them just for having that picnic table in the middle of the swamp for me to sit on!
Those guys must hate when it gets dry enough for 2WD's to make it there.

I believe I'll be seeing ya out there. I hear Holiday Park has the right size flag.
At first I thought the flag was stupid, but it is pretty cool to be able to see your buddy pretty far away. I can imagine when it is full of people it must be nice as well.

I don't know. Walking up to a water hose for two minutes just doesn't seem like trespassing to me. The picnic table was well off the lawn (of a house in the middle of the swamp.)
I did knock to see if anyone was home, because I'd really like to meet the owner.
I also carted away about 15 empty beer cans from the immediate area, was that stealing?

From your pics, it looks like you are mudding right in his yard. If I came home and a stranger was stuck in the mud in my yard or washing himself in my hose I wouldn't be too happy about it. Might be different if that stranger was a female and better looking than you

In my defense, that's not me...I'm behind the camera.
Anyway, I don't know if you have been there, but the pictures are deceptive. It is not in the yard at all. Many trails and ruts completely surround the place. Also, the pics are from two different camps. This is also literally in the middle of sawgrass air boat / fulltrak country.
