I am training once again for another strongman competition and always enjoy having people train with me. I have a wild assortment of implements for training and will be training (with the implements like tires, kegs, sand bags, logs, drag sleds, etc.) during the week on a limited basis and definitely one day per weekend.

If anyone wants to give it a try I am glad to help you out and introduce you to it. I train with two other strength athletes who always appreciate other interested peoples' participation.

Once I get back into the gym for a bit I will hit you up on that offer. Just to see how I could do.

I'd love to have you and your brother come down one weekend. We could work out and ride.Make a full day of it.  Matt Watson and I built a really nice XC track on 50 acres of my Dad's place. We've got some nice little hill climbs, lots of jumps, obstacles, mud, spears, thorns and spider monkeys. We call it Matt's top secret test track. Matt and I are riding on Sunday as a matter of fact. Just come on down.

Depends on my training schedule. I've been back in the gym lifting heavy for about three months now and working my cardio back. I've dropped about 25 pounds of fat already and will likely compete at 315 lbs. As far as how much I lift, it varies. As a for instance, on Monday I squatted heavy for the first time in a while and did 500lbs 5 times, no wraps or spotter, full squats, not that hack squat crap.

I do a lot of dead lifting, cleans, hang cleans, snatches, overhead press work, tons of squats, rows....big lifts on the big muscles. You're welcome to come workout with us any time you'd like. We'd love to have you and we usually have a great time.

Sounds like you're both blessed with the genetics. I train with another friend in Tampa from time to time. He's got a full olympic platform at his home along with all the stones, sled drags, big tires, buffalo bars, 2" bars, kettle bells, etc. Maybe you and your brother would like to meet in Tampa sometime?

When we train at my place we usually finish off the day in the pool followed by steaks and drinks and a long BS session. Always a great time and we'd be more than happy to have you and your brother attend. I'll figure what weekends would be good and send you a PM so that you can let me know what works for you.

You can pull my quad around the track for me. Considering how much it breaks down on me. Wink That would be good on the legs. Wink

I dont think people realize how hard you have to work to strength train. I used to train with a couple guys who where body builders ,they  trained to compete in shows. Not quite the same routine I was used to . Way to many reps w/ lighter weight then I like. But, they actually got less injuries then I did  because of it. Maybe Ill see you on ESPN someday!!

That would hurt!

Strength training is a whole different ball game than body building. Big strict lifts with lots of weight. Also, implement training is an entirely different thing all together. It's not for everyone.
I was actually on ESPN one time for about 3 seconds.  Wink
