i live in vero and sherrif roy raymond is a fag
you guys read the thing at the bottom? he outlawed that new rule that said we could ride on dirt roads
i wish we never had that damn rule that let us ride on roads, i was never for it. when it wasnt legal there wasnt a big problem and the cops were cool about it. then they tell the cops its legal, now they tell them its not. so now the cops know it has just been outlawed and now they are gunna be on the lookout for atvs on the streets
"zero tolerance policy" that sounds good, now when i ride by my friends house on dirt roads they are gunna seize my bike
im not chancing it, they will not catch me

FLORIDA STATUTE 316.1935,(running from the police)
I can see reading that in the next issue of the newpaper
ATV RIDER RUNS FROM POLICE
, or even worse
ATV RIDER INJURED WHILE RUNNING FROM POLICE
why subject yourself to the possibility and add further cause to the already heated ATV issue....just my .02

Good reply Chuck. Here is another for the simple minded who may not read it all.
"The charge is aggravated fleeing and eluding. This is a felony."
If you get caught, then its best to just stop and take the heat you have coming to you. You would not flee in your car would you.

did any of you even read the article this topic is about? or did you just decided to gang up on me over a simple commment i made.
in your attempt reprimand me it seems you have lost track of what is important here.
this article directly effects the atv community, it certainly effects me. i live in vero beach and cops are coming down hard on atv riding. there are a bunch of great spots to ride where i live, but its almost guaranteed you will get ran out of each one withen the first hour your there. the atv riders that were playing chicken does not show a positive image of the sport. did you read the comments for the article on the TCPalm site? read them, thats what people think about atv riders
"punks whose atv's should be seized"

"im not chancing it, they will not catch me"
John, this comment can be taken either way as to mean,
(1) They will have a hard time catching me or
(2) They will not catch me because I'm not gonna be on the streets.
When most people reads it the first time they already have the impression that you are meaning the first one because so many people have that mentality. I even read it the first way because I see so many people make that comment on here. I was just letting people know that by running from the law you can make a misdemeanor voilation into a felony real quick. I had rather just stop and respect the officer for doing his job and pay the ticket if he wants to still write me one. A lot of the time they understand as long as your not speeding and tearing up the roads. And in return the officer may be a little more respecting to you for not running. Its best to just drive up to them and let them know that you do know the laws and that you were just out touring the nice veiw of the countryside. As long as that was all your doing and not tearing up the roads and speeding down them. Sorry if I misinterpreted your meaning wrong.

Well said Yunt2. JohnF just so that you are aware it is not a matter of ganging up on you. It is a matter of excersing maturity. I have read many of your posts and you seem to want to argue with people pretty regular. This is not one of those times. This is about curving you into the right direction. With intentional comments that you have made, you are bound for trouble. Keep in mind that not only do people read the news papers and formulate opinions they also read websites such as this. Those people include the US Forestry and Law Enforcement personel alike.

I DO argue with people all the time. but i only argue with idiots, people that have no idea what they are talking about. people that ride go peds. i wasnt looking for an argument here.
its funny that you are trying to parent me to show your maturity. "bound for trouble" - this is an internet forum filled with a bunch of goons. there are however people on here that know what they are talking about and are worth having a meaningful discussion/debate with. but its the idiots i make fun of, they have it coming. people like "redneck4x4chad" why not? he comes on here and asks a bunch of dumb questions and trys to get people to argue about who makes the best truck and what not. hes not the type of person whos opinion you would take seriously. just some random kid sitting on the computer getting his post count up. why is he here? i havent even argued with him yet but i do see it in the future
for instance - people in the tech forum, if they have a valid question and are looking for answers on how to fix their bike, i will try to help them the best i can. i dont start arguments with people for no good reason

While you seem to be articulate you also show your immaturity with some of your comments. Your first reply to this post was " sherriff roy raymond is a fag?" Don't post like a kid and maybe people won't try to parent you.

Oh the days when we were 18 and thought we knew everything and had life all figured out.
We need another arguement about as much as we need another trail closed down.
JohnF, be a part of the solution, not a part of the problem, I know its easy to want to bark back or pop off at the mouth because I am guilty of it too but in life you have to learn whats important and calling anyone a fag whether you think they are or not is wrong regardless of the guys career decisions.
As stated before, many read this forumn and we honestly dont need what you feel as freedom of speech taking away what many are really working hard for around here and thats at the very minimum a good reputation.
This is a forumn that brings riders together so keep that in mind when we post flaming comments.
here is 2 really cool quotes I have learned to "try" and live by.
1: "People don't care how much you know until they Know how much you care"
2: "Let the relationship dictate the situation, dont let the situation dictate the relationship"
Thanks and have a great evening!!!

Your right you don't need my advice or anyone elses advice on how to post and yes you can say what you want especially when your wearing your big boy pants. You are right and everyone else is wrong.Your on track to make plenty of friends on here I can tell.I believe everything you say and now realize I was mistaken thinking you were immature. You obviously do know everything and maybe the sherriff is a fag after all. Please except my apologies for making the wrong assumption of you.

settle down with the sarcasm, stop trying to turn this into your typical know it all teenager arguing with "adults"
sherriff roy raymond is not a homosexual. i should not have used the term "fag" becuase you have mistaken it as just an immature comment with no real meaning behind it. i should have said it better - i do not care for mr. roy ramond's political agenda. i also dont care to go into detail why because, once again, i live in vero and you all dont. your not familar with him and it wouldnt make sence for me to explain my reasoning to you
sometimes i express my views without going into detail why i feel that way. thats when you misunderstand it as simple immaturity

if you thought i was 45 this would be a whole different argument, probably wouldnt have even turned into one

Yeah I get the same thing. I like to argue with people and voice my oppinon on allot of things that come up. Now it may not be the best supported or anything like that but I am allot more "mature" and "informed" then allot of adults. But what I hate are people that try to be a hero and stop arguments. PEOPLE, there are debates and arguments that arise often in an open forum with allot of topics and over 5,000 people. Just because you dont like the subject doesnt mean that you have to be a frekin hero and try to shut it down by saying lets get along and promote a good image. Heres what I know what I want to know. Since when sharing ideas and disscussing what people said a bad image. If you dont want to post then dont. But if you dont have an intellgent comment or are voicing your oppinon then dont post in the argument. And dont give me the cocky "WTF ARE YOU TO TELL PEOPLE WHO CAN POST AND WHO CANT". I've herd that before and although im not saying that you cant, it would be in your and everyone elses best intrests to not. Because few arguments are going to be solved by you preeching good things.
As far as the age thing is concerned, I would love to make another account, set my age to 40 and then post my same oppinons and see what the reactions. Most of the time people post something and then when its attacked and they know your wrong they look for a scapegoat like age or something personal like that. But if your facts are straight then your age shoulnt even be a factor.

I agree with JohnF, if you 45 year olds havent noticed by now, this is an online forum, not
a court meeting where everything has to have tons of details, and be 100% correct.
so what if he makes an immature comment, thats what forums are for, to express your opinions on
things, and to help each other out.

you acctually made some very good points, not gunna lie, i was surprised - i like the last 2 sentences
inyourdraft and cableguy are certainly falling back on the age thing. they are blowing key things i said way out of proportion and using them as examples of my young age
Luke - yeah, they take things a little too seriously from time to time and wind up misunderstanding

To serious huh. Well, when people come on here and make comments like "im not chancing it, they will not catch me" or as I have seen others post "they will have to catch me" or some other comments in the same manner of running from the law, thats when it makes US as a community look bad. Atvs already have a bad rap and we could do without comments or people who ride with this attitude. Yep gonna take some things to seriously. Just like the people who come on here that does not ride and that would like to see us have no place to ride.

I agree this forum goes a lot of different ways. But you have to choose your wording properly.Name calling is where your messing up.A debate is a debate until you start saying generalizations as if your speaking of more than one person. You can't sit on here and say,"There are goons on this site," and expect a positive response.
And yes...there are members on here trying to calm down your heated discussion when you start verbing it the way you guys are. We're trying to be friendly towards each other.Keep your opinions professionally spoken, and it will be respected.

John, dont take the age thing as a slap, we all went and will go through it.
Why do you think in life everything you do is based on age. 16 to drive, 18 you are now a legal adult responsible for your own actions now and not mom and dad. 21 to drink...bla bla bla and so on.
Dont look at it as immature but instead maturing. I read your comments and yes I noticed you were 18 but the only thing I would have changed in my response to you was the openning sentence about the age and having it all figured out, If it were a 40 year old as you put it I would have said everything I said minus the 18 year old comment. But think about it, how many 40 year olds have you seen call someone a fag and imply though you didn't mean it that way but that the cops wouldn't catch you.
Honestly the only thing being ask of you in this thread is to think through before you post, when I am pissed in my experiance I have learned that if I cool off and have time to think about the situation first off being upset didn't solve anything and secondly if I respond negatively I usually look back at it and say it wasn't really worth it.
Positive breeds positive and negative breeds negative.....Please dont take it as some old guy preaching to a young guy. I am only 32 and have still a lot to learn, I try to live life as a sponge and soak in as much as possible.
Be cool bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW.... Hope to see and meet a bunch of yall MAY 19th and the ATV RALLY in Lakeland..."Most important day for a ATV enthusiast"!!!
