Hello everyone, I am new to these forums and I sure hope I can get some help. I puchased a 1985 Honda CR 125 in Colorado. The engine was completely rebuilt. Now, I live in Davie, FL.
Due to my ignorance, I put 2-stroke oil in the crank case. SO i took the bike out for a spin and as I was riding it the bike began to die down and it shut off. Now it won't start. the kick start feels REALLY soft, so soft I can push it down with no pressure with my hand.
Does anyone know what I can do, or any mechanics in my local area?
Sorry for the lonf paragraph, but I hope someone can help me

so you didnt put any oil with the fuel?

No no no. I always do the correct fuel/oil mixture, but i was looking on the top of the crank case and it said oil, so I put some there too

drain all the oil from the crank case and then fill it with 2-stroke gearbox trans oil. but do not fill it all the way. fill it untill its in the middle of the see-thru fill mark. your not supposed to fill them up all the way, only about 1/5 way full.
i dont know if that will fix your problem, you may have cause irreverable damage to the gearbox
but long ago i filled up a 2-stroke gearbox all they way with the correct oil and it shot out the overflow tube and lost a ton of power, i then drained it and put in the correct amount and it ran perfect

if you can turn the kicker over by hand, ypu have lost all compression, unless you have a severe head gasket leak.... you will need to replace the top end. get the parts, it takes about an hour to do it.

i dont know about you but the last time i check the tranny case oil has nothen to do with the crank rods and piston on two stroke but dose sound like you need a new top end

If the bike is from Colorado it probably was jetted to lean and you scored your cylinder.

if you have stock head and it has never been modified, you should be able to push the kick starter over by hand. You should be able to feel when each piston is approaching the head it will get harder to push, then easy then hard, etc. If it is consistently throughout the hole stroke of the kick starter then yes you either have burnt a hole in a piston or have a blown head gasket.
Head Gasket - 20
Pistons (if needed) - 150
Cylinder bored (if they are scored up) - 75
Base Gasket - 20
What I would recommend is to remove the head and take some pics and post them on here so we can see. Without having you on the phone and getting exact information fed back, it is hard to help someone. Either PM someone and talk to them on the phone or post some pics and we can help ya.

Depends on the damage and if you do it yourself. You may have to bore the cylinder. that might be your most exspensive part of the job. Do yourself for around 150.00 to 250.00. Take it to a mechanic and you can double those figures. Make sure your spark plug isn't lose, that could happen and cause compression loss. Always check the easy stuff first. Go up 2 sizes on your main jet too.
