if you TRUELY want people's opinions on this site,,,,do a search for it instead of starting your own poll just for the sake of making one.

Has everybody forgotten the King of the Outlaws? Waylon Jennings!!!!
Country isnt country anymore, country is rock, cause rock turned into a bunch of queers dancin around with black dyed hair and tattoos screming lyrics you cant understand. Thats not a rock star!! Paul Rogers, Jimmy Page , Roger Daltrey, Robert Plant ,  those are rock stars. As far as todays country there are only a few. Alan Jackson, George Strait, Brad Paisely, Ricky Scaggs, Vince Gill , thats country !!! The rest of em are all fakes that couldnt make it in any other genre of music and now spew there crap on country radio. Whats the world comin to? Huh

George Strait, Alan Jackson are some favorites from that list.  I haven't explored the older country too much.  But I agree that the newer stuff from Keith Urban/Rascal Flatts is way to hip and poppy to really be country.

How do you pick??! I dont listen to country as much as I used to but wow, thats a hard vote. But you have to consider the techonlogy differeces. In the 60s and 70s there were no recording studios and digital music crap. It just was you and a recorder. Now you can almost prefect a song and make people sound nothing like they actually do. So thats something to consider. But todays country has also been greately affected by other types of music and although I woulnt say that it sucks, its definitly different then what it used to be.
