We all need to come together and figure out some more places to ride. To spend so much money on an ATV and than not being able to use it sucks! If anyone has any ideas, let me know. We need riding places and support. I am starting a petition to the state. I know alot of people in high places that can help us, if they can. If anyone is interested, please let me know!

Come on people... I am willing to take a stand, are you?

For anyone who is interested, I have been putting together a petition, it should be done over the next week. Over the next two months I will be organizing a meeting, all Florida riders are invited to attend. The meeting will be about riding areas, petition signing, and the next steps in getting a place/places to ride in Florida. I need everyone's support to pull this through.

Please let me know if you are interested and when the time comes and you can not attend I will send you a petition. If anyone wants to help out with organizing this thing, email me at SiscoLindsey101@aol.com.

It's time to take a stand!

Well we all need to get together, instead of just talking about it. I know alot of people at the city, county, and state level and am more than willing to go talk to them but I need more support.

Who should I talk to about the leases? Do you have any names or numbers?

See this stuff helps........ Keep the ideas flowing and I will start talking to some people. Thanks for everything!

Yesitsfast,

I live in Davie which is in Fort Lauderdale, but my boyfriend and I travel all around to ride. We go to Holy Lands, Okechobee, River Ranch, and other spots that we have found. Let me know where you ride out and I will make a trip someday soon.

hey lindsey, you know that I'm there if you have a meeting or need support!! I'm sure a few other people down here wouldn't mind lending a hand with the efforts.

What we REALLY need to work on is LIMITING land-owners liability if some nut on a four-wheeler messes themself up on private property, much like they do for equestrians.

Limiting responsibility is the easy part. Every rider would have to sign a release and if there is no paretn there it needs to be posted ona web site!

if thats the easy part, why isn't it done yet?? do you know how many land owners would open up their land if we could say "Hey, let us ride here and you won't be liable for anything that happens to us"?

The problem is that most land owners do not reliaze the money that they can make. I am going to talk to an environmental  lawyer next week. I will see what is going to happen, hopefully good news!

And than I will be going to talk to some land owners. The problem is.... It isn't what you say, it's how you say it! And most people do not know much of either.

Okay, just got off the phone with Thrumud. He gave me alot of good ideas!

For all of you Holy Land riders: We are losing that area fast due to trash and crazy people. Sometime next month we need to do a mass cleanup. Everyone bring their ATV's and I will bring trash bags. Let me know when you guys are free!

April the 26th from 1 pm to 7 pm
International Game Fish Association Hall of Fame and Museum
300 Gulf Stream Way
Dania Beach, FL 33004

For more information, contact: Chris Reed at 352/ 544-5136, email reedj1@doacs.state.fl.us.

I emailed Chris Reed and here's his replay;

Robert,

The OHV Advisory Committee Meetings are open to the public and we invite your comment.  The status of potential areas being sought to provide OHV recreation will be discussed.  At this time I do not have a finalized agenda, but as always there will be a time on the agenda for public comment.  I understand folks have to work, so I plan to schedule the public comment portion of this meeting from 5:30 to 6:45.

Chris Reed, OHV Coordinator

FDACS – Division of Forestry

So, those of you in SFL should attend the comment portion of this meeting two weeks from tomorrow. See ya there!
