If you haven't yet, make sure you pick up a copy of Dennis Covington's book "Redneck Riviera" and read it. It is very well written and sheds some light on the true nature of River Ranch.

I just finished reading it a second time and enjoyed as well as the first time. Pretty interesting stuff.

The book is a bit hard to find. However, they have them at amazon.com. Just search Dennis Covington or the title Redneck Riviera. You can buy one and have it shipped to you for under $10.00.

It has a great history on River Ranch, it's origins and an extremely accurate description/history of the evolution of the River Ranch Property Owners Association and the "hunt club".
