Does anyone know the details? I think I work with a girl who use to babysit him when he was small.

Just read the post, very very sad things to day. I have 2 sons,no parent
should have to bury their baby ( no matter what age). I get a sick feeling
in the pit of my belly just thinking about it. Makes daily problems seem
meaningless. God bless his lil boy,and the entire family, atving family
also. Medicmudder..... Can some one find out what happened?

The details are not clear as of yet but it seems he was just doing an ENDO when the bike flipped on him and he landed with his head hitting the sidewalk curb. It did not involve speed or racing it was a mere atv accident. This is all I have heard thru friends of the father. Sad thing is the father is always preaching safety and you never catch him without boots or chest protector, helmet. Seems it was the mothers weekend and the accident happen. The students at Braddock are really hurt by this loss. He seems to have been a great friend to many there.
This can happen to any of us and any of our children. Just proves kids are kids. Trust me I have 2 of them his age. Again my condolenses to this family.

When it comes to concrete (or rock, wood, metal, anything hard) vs. bone, it doesn't take much when you deal with the weight of your typical quad. Forces increase as a square of velocity so only a small incremental increase in speed will greatly increase the force. Years ago, a friend of my family died in a similar manner, doing a little trick he had done a hundred times before. No helmet. You cannot let familiarity affect your judgement; you never know when things might go wrong. That's why they're called accidents. Always wear your safety gear. This can be a dangerous activity despite the fun we have and we must treat it as such. God Bless him and his family. God Bless you and yours as well.

I am new to the sport, what is an ENDO? I have 3 teenage sons and try to be very careful, the more I know about ATV safety, the better.
Thanks

an Endo is sometimes called a "Stoppie" it is where you use the front brakes and cause the back tires to come off the group, like a reverse wheelie.
