Grizzly, Brute Force, Kingquad Owners

Hey, Im newer to the site and im looking into a quad.  Im more of a Jeep offroader than a quad, so im willing to give it a shot.  Ive been looking into the bigger utility sized quads such as the Grizzly 700.  Ive heard good things about Yamaha which puts them at the top of the list.  If you have any of the three quads I listed and would like to give your input I would greatly appreciate it so I can make the correct decision on a quad.  Thanks everyone.

I have an 07 grizzly 700.  I ride every day and I ride hard.  I have not had one problem with this 4wheeler.  And with the power steering I can ride all day and my arms never get tired.  The bullet proof fourwheel drive and electric lockers is amazing on this quad.  I have had it burried to the handlebars and not gotten stuck.  I got my grizzly back in september before there were many around.  Like I said I beat on it every day and it has never let me down.  My girfriend has a grizzly 350 and it also is bullet proof.  We ride Ocala Croom and a private area I have.  My buddies are always putting there polarises in the shop.  My Grizzly starts up every time and honestly I dont see why you need any more than 75 miles an hour for trail riding.  Power has never been an issue.  I have always had good luck with yamahas.  Of course anyone who doesnt have a yamaha would disagree but no one wants to think theres is second best.
I will only buy yamaha and I would deffinately suggest it.

Brute has tremendous torque and power - Does not handle as well as the others but the bike is a BEAST.

The Grizz 700 EFI is a great bike as well plenty of power and Torque , the Power Steering a cool option but I found it not as comfortable. But it is a sweet bike.

I have a King Quad 700 and I love it...

All these bikes are great and you will enjoy everyone of them..The Brute force is NOT a beginners bike , That and the Outlander 800 by Can-Am.

You can not go wrong with a Suki or Yamadog!!

I looked at Yamaha before I purchased my BF and the decision was made easier when I rode the Kawi and felt the way better POWER curve.  Ride the kawi and it will make the decision for you. But as stated before, this is not a begginers bike. The power is very crisp , so be prepared.

Oh I didnt know that.  Well the Bruteforce does have a larger engine so it should be a bit more powerful even if it is a 50cc (really 30-40) difference.  A good thing the BF has going for it is the price tag.

With the brute force you lose fuel injection.  Something to consider.  In utility quads being carburated is a thing of the past.  Of all the quads in the 700 line up the only not fuel injected is the brute force.  You feel more power because it is a V-twin.

If you can find a dealer ship that has the two sit on either of them.  You will find the grizzly has a very comfortable seat and riding position.  If you need more power I would go with the Can Am.  That is the powerhouse.  If what you are looking for is something to drag race and wheelie then you might want to look into a sport quad.

I have that issue of dirtwheels infront of me and cannot find where they state that the grizzly only got praise on the power steering.  Maybe my issue was missing that page.  Seems the grizzly got praise in more areas than one.  In the conclusion of the article the Brute Force got praise for being the cheapest.  Actually the two runners up under the grizzly were the Polaris sportsman and Honda Rincon.

v- twin provides some power difference , but the rule has always been : carb = horse power, inj = efficence . Considering it has better power than its efi compition , efi is only a nice option for easy starts. Which these bikes start good anyway. I have rode both bikes at great length, and unless you are light in the ass , both seats are less than comfortable. Im 6ft , 230 lb and riding postion on both bikes is more preference than comfort.This bike is for a more seasoned rider and when fast trail riding it demands some bit of " throwing around"
but , by far the best choice for the money. Be careful about reading to far into these       " reviews " . These magazines tend to be a bit more biased than one might think. With regard to the grizz being picked winner( it was the only bike that had drastically changed from the year prior) guess thats grounds for winning.You will see a different outcome on the trail. as for that article itself , its been over a month since I read it and I remember it being rather biased against all the bikes( except for yamaha)

Locking diff on a BT is mechanical not electrical( a penlock should be first add-on)
Very reliable carberation, starts good with great accelaration and throttle resonse.
steering is predictable with exception to coming off throttle in tight corners( some front end dive, easily corrected with smashing throttle to power through turn)
camo plastics are black underneath camo, so when scratched its hard to tell.
fuel tank located in rear ( makes for great weight transfer)
the addition of aggressive tires and a Dynatek box are practically all thats needed.
with a 650i or 750 you will run away from any stock grizzly ( addition of Dynatek box will be an even more demoralizing victory)


everyones making great quads (you cant make a bad decision, just a better one) Good luck!!!

Don't worry about being a seasoned rider, according to the same article in question the Brute Force is the easiest to use.
"  Our younger more agressive testers preferred the power that both of the V-twin powered ATV's gave(outlander/bruteforce)  The seasoned riders were splite between the Grizzly, the sportsman and the Rincon. Although the Bruteforcce is the cheapest, the lack of fuel injection and some comfort issues kept it from being in the running for the win." (Dirtwheels, January 2007 pg.72)

Ive been looking at videos on youtube of the Griz and Brute.  The Brute hauls like a 400cc sport quad, it looks like a ton of fun.  The Grizzly was doing the same.  Im looking into a utility ATV because around my house I can ride it, but it is muddy so a sport wouldnt do.  Whats the best deealership to deal with out of experience?  I live in Hernando County, dont want to venture to far.

Im a quad newb so I cant say too much , I just bought a 07 Kawie BF 750. Yeah its my first quad, maybe a bit too much power for a starting quad, maybe way more power than I'll ever need.THe salesman said it was good for like 60 mph altough I have a hard time imagining anyplace off road where you could go that fast or anyone crazy enough to try it. THey defiinitely named it right. it is a brute!!I bought it mainly for work around my 5 acres and some riding fun. I was looking into 500's when I found an add for the 07 BF down in Lake Wales for basicly the price of a 500. I talked with my local Kawie dealer and he matched the price amazingly. I saved at least a grand on the deal, which is why I bought it.I havent had the chance to ride it yet so I cant tell you much else , except never pay MSRP, there is no reason to. YOu can go on line and find dealer invoce price and talk a deal from there.

They are all good quads. I've rode them all. It comes down to what your personal preference is. Try them out and go for the best "fit" for you.

For me, the Brute 750 is a great fit. I LOVE my BF.

I have heard of them, they used to be in Brooksville on Ponce De Leon blvd if im not mistaken?  They mustve moved I assume?  This is Florida, I dont want something called an Arctic Cat .  When I looked at the Arctic Cat it just looked more show than go.  I might be dead wrong because Ive never tried one but theres no input from an arctic cat owner yet so I will still assume that.  Plus I havent heard of any arctic cat dealerships in the area if there was I would go check them out.

I ride with a guy that has a Can-AM 500 4x4 outlander he loves it. Great ground clearance a v-twin and a 3 yr warranty. A little pricy but nice. the dealer is just off county line rd on the Pasco side. I hope to buy another quad soon but I won't buy without independent rear suspension it's awsome. I like the Griizz just a little concerned about the power steering might be just 1 more thing to break LOL.

[/quote]   I bought my 04 Rancher AT at Action Honda price was average . When I picked up my prepped atv it was filthy,the air pressure in all 4 tires were different. And when Honda sent me a recall notice on the tie rod ends they put me on a list no problem. Every time I called no one could tell me when or how many tie rods were being shipped I find that hard to beleive.. I called every week for 6 weeks they kept telling me they would call as soon as they arrived. LOL I kept calling and got the parts guy who told me they have been there for a week. So he transfered me to service and they said they were just going to call. I would still recomend Honda I have 1100 miles no problems. Just shop around I can't support Action Honda.
