actually the cylinder wasn't that bad, just a few little nicks but it's still trashed, probally enough meat to bore but it won't work now, hopefully there is nothing wrong with the crank, haven't torn down any farther yet but will have the motor by the end of the weekend

Looks like it went lean but why did it crack the bottom of the piston? Usually I see the edges of the top of the piston go or a small hole in the piston but it appears there was sideload on the piston. (without looking at your "L" shaped rod) -Mark

buying used parts from cutngrs you will not have a problem. just look at his bike and you will see how he takes care of his stuff. good luck on the rebuild. never seen a piston like that before. old school might of broke the bottom of the piston when the rod went.

did u have any anti freeze leakin in the cylinder or riding in water with no airbox?? looks like it sucked some water in the cylinder to bend the rod like that (water don't compress) looks like alot of jetski motors that rolled over and people didn't pull the plugs and tryed to start em same result bend rod or crank bearing . bore that shee out 80 over my buddy did his and he went with single 45 mil carb, thing is wicked fast

lol, i dunno what happened to it, we buy it used to take to ocala because my dads ds want working and the first time i rode it i noticed it seemed to be running a little rich and then it would catch up to itself and take off and that just kept getting worse an worse untill the motor locked up, and thanks to my dads friend brian who does two strokes and cutngrs she will be running by friday because thats when we get the jugs back, and ready for holylands on sunday!! thanks again cutngrs!!

boring 80 over is a waste of bores in my opinion....you get more power gain by stroking the crank....unless you go to a big bore kit or aftermarket cylinders you only need to bore what you need to clean the cylinder up in a 2 stroke....4 strokes are a different story.
