Author Topic: Went to the Yucapen for the first time  (Read 6004 times)

I went to the Yucapen for the first time yesterday. I really enjoyed it. It was a little to flooded out for my dirt bike but I still managed to fallow the utility quads accross the lakes and rivers. The only problem with the whole trip was that my bike hit a stump and fell into the water. I got it up and it started but didn't rev up so this guy on a ultility quad towed me back. Now the bike doesn't start at all but I havent really looked at it. Anyway I could see the water was draining out of the rivers. I wish there was a way I could tell how deep the water is before I head out to the Yucapen next time.

I told you it was flooded. I just got back from there. Had a blast! Went through some serious water and met some cool folks.

Lots of fun if you have a 4x4 quad and somebody to ride with you.

hey guys sorry to but in here, but where exactly is this yucapen??? i am in ft laud, go to ocala to ride alot, been to croom hate it, looking for something maybe a little closer. if its not too much trouble email me direct  kr_f3504x4@yahoo.com  thanks, BILL

ps, the word is they are closing the lower end ocala forest because of too many people "mud riding" in the ponds out there.

Do a search and you'll find lots of talk about it.  BTW, it's not a legal place to ride like Croom or Ocala and much of it will probably be developed soon.

We need to put some burrowing owls and bald eagle nests out there so they can't build Wink.

How long does it take for that place to dry out? Like if it doesnt rain for a week would the water go away.

Shotgun will know, but I'd guess that with a dry week a lot of the trails would be pretty dry.  The problem is that it is so flat out there and water has nowhere to go so after heavy rains is just stays wet.
