Lisa, you have lost my support. I was one of the people in the background supporting you all these years. I even sent money to help you on one of your trips (to Tallahassee?). I mentioned to a few members of the board (FL ATV Assoc.) that you certainly can add value and should be considered for the board. Not anymore, you've shot yourself in the foot. I have to go along with the responses you have been getting on one of the other threads. You want things on your terms with no flexibility, and now you're shooting down the association. You have had many offers from the association for support/ideas/opinions, but my opinion is you're bitter because things aren't going the way you want them to with you in the lead. I think you would prefer a hatfield-mccoy scenarios where the atv'ers are on one side with battle gear on, all missles armed, ready for the dreaded enemy. Let me tell you something, the "enemy," as you call them, is probably your neighbor. I don't know about you, but I'd rather make peace with my neighbor and we all learn to share and we're all happy campers. I'm sure you've heard the expression "you catch more flys with honey than you do with vinegar." You have to pick your battles, not everything is a battle, and I certainly wouldn't want you representing my interests, I'll always have to be watching my back. I hope you change your attitude and look at this as a positive thing, when you do, I will start believing in you again, until then, count yourself down 1 supporter.

I couldn't agree more! Lisa, you started this post back in January, what's your membership up to now? Step back and examine your ways and you might figure it out why you are losing support here.

Lisa,
Simply put, Birds of a Feather Flock together, You do not ride so you can not have the same passion we do as fellow riders.
Thats not to say you are not passionate about what you do and I give you kudos for taking a stand for what you believe even through
all this. As far as ONF goes you have to understand that it will NEVER be what it was. We are being given 3 mile looping trails out of what used to be wide open. Even though ONF is working to give us something, in my opinion it is just not enough to be fun anymore.
We are on a mission that is larger then the ONF problem. Please continue your fight w/ the locals and anyone else that plans to continue their riding in the ONF as that is your best bet in moving forward.
I dont know you personally and I dont believe in person you are as you appear in here, fact is, most of us in here have and will continue
to be misunderstood based on text. The great thing is that w/ and through the rally many will get to meet and shake hands and develop a deeper friendship. Once that is established we can only get better at what we do.
I have met a few in here and I have to tell you that they are great people. We have the same passion and vision for our sport and I think that is what seperates us from you. But hey, that should not stop you from coming out to the rally and making friends. Heck you might even like us when it is all said and done....
Hope to see you all at the Rally, signing off w/ Have an Outstanding Afternoon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Being my totally honest, blunt self, I will say I didn't read more than a sentence of each of the three posts. Back and the others, I told Joe what happened. First, I was doing research to answer questions that I knew ya'll would have, then I got the flu, then I saw ya'll were starting your association. So I decided to wait and see what the rally was going to do.
There are others who are on your board who don't know what you are actually doing......not a good sign if you want their support. I wasn't about to start something with no real idea who was going to be helping us. I have spent the last two years helping others in their fight, and would bring their experience on board.
I don't have the ego ya'll have. I am willing to wait another year or two till some of those who think playing nice is going to work, have them find out it doesn't and drop to the way side and then offer my help to those still left. I know how hard it is to fight....I have been fighting for over three years (two for ya'll and another one for jeeps.)
There are lots of folks out there, and I don't mind doing the leg work, phone calls, etc. that it is going to take. I gave the board a shot. If ya'll want these guys, I know a few will try (and I hope they succeed) but I have seen one group fall apart because of egos and in-fighting. Again, I don't have something to prove to anyone on here, I don't have an ego for ya'll to destroy.
I will keep plodding on. Yes, sometimes I could be a little more tactful, but then, so could we all. I have brought to the table who the enemy really is, ya'll defend them. I will go to the people who are out there every weekend, I will talk with them, get them invovled.
I left the board for a while because of the egos and arrogance. It is interesting that those who don't play well with others are once again trying to start their third group/association in a few years.....if you lie down with dogs, you wake up with fleas.
I will watch, I will wait, and when those who are in this to do it right, are in for the bigger picture are left, I will have been proven right once again. Time will tell....
Now those whom I know will work hard and get things done are Rick Varela and Brian McMahon. They have gotten things done and know how to work the system. Their experience will be invaluable to this association. I wish them well...as I have always wished for this group. My only doubt has been that the rest of the board that likes to "work with" the government agencies will slow them down.
The Everglades Coordinating Council has "worked with" the government agencies for many years, one person in particular has had enough, 20-years enough, of dealing with and playing nice with the government agencies. This person won't play nice any more either. I really don't care if ya'll want another association or not. You have made it plain ya'll want the FloridaATV, go for it! Hope it is everything you want.
I will still post up my info as I think about it...things the membership should push the association to do. As I tell my boys, if you know about something and don't do anything about it, don't complain about it. I drive a jeep. I am fighting (and will continue to do so as my funds allow) for you because I believe in your right to enjoy the land as much as I do, however, your interests will take a back seat if I don't have your support. I know I have the support of the Jeepers despite the same attitude from F4WDA as the three of the above posts have.
I know the majority of this board is silent, so anyone wishing to add their name to a private email list I am putting together to keep folks informed of what is going on, my email addy is:
xjlisa@gmail.com
Thanks to my supporters, I hope to see your email soon.

I actually read about three or four sentences.... not the one I said earlier...
Anyway, this thought hit me as I was thinking of this situation and I wanted to clarify something...my passion and frustration sound like arrogance and condescention in my posts. Those folks whom I have worked with, and whom have worked with me understand that, since they feel it too.
I usually pass things through my network, especially those whom my statements, emails, etc. affect before sending them on to "official" channels. I know ya'll are under the impression I am a loose cannon. I am not. I do work with my network and others who believe the way I do very well. When I work with a whole group, or an individual I work with them, not above them. They are always involved and informed (sometimes to the point where I am an annoyance) to the hilt.
Just something for those who really don't know me and what I am about to think on. I have never strayed or said anything different today, than I did 2-years-ago. My posts are here, feel free to read them. I believe everyone should know what is going on.
I find it very flattering that my little ol' opinion is so important on here! That it is worth so many precious minutes of those who are working for this rally. I also find it interesting that it is worth all the time to post these lenghty posts!
I have said enough about me and the association. If anyone wants some of the information I have on the guys invovled, email or pm me and I will do what I can to let you know what I know. I have always wished the association well, hoped that it would work...trully....as I said, I have no ego on this to be bruised, and I will be happy to assist in the future.

Lisa, I have to say that you have captured not minutes but hours of my time personally. But not for any of the negative reasons, I have followed quite a bit of your information posted regarding ONF and some other things you have brought forth. It is very informative at the very least.
No one can say differant if they have also read it. When 2 dogs circle each other the first one to be bit is usually the one that sends out a signal of fear or weakness, In here all we have to go by is text....I have said before and I will say it again, No one cares how much you know till they know how much you care.
The group of people working right now to create this Rally are friends w/ no alterier motives. Everything is volunteer as no one is sitting on a but load of money to write out paychecks. We will fight till the end if there is such a thing (end). But we are doing it for our sport and our love for it.
I believe there is a place for you in this fight but we can not fight 10 battles at once, we have a pretty good hold on our first fight and understand what we are asking for....When this one is won and the State sees and understands what we are asking for then thats were the other doors will open....
I appreciate your response and would love to see all of the negative stuff swept under the carpet from both parties but we all have to be on the same page and fighting for the same cause....Atleast at one time anyway.....

Ok, you want the association to do well, but you have information on the board members that potential members can get if they pm you.
So just to clear this up, you are happy to share negative stuff privately, but publically you write you wish us well. You are the master of mixed messages

Hey Lisa:
Maybe the reason nobody wants you on board and the reason you can't get any support is because:
1. Your so called digging and research has resulted in incorrect information and half truths.
2. Your comments are almost always negative and never constructive or laced with recommendations
3. Your mindset and tact are lacking to the point of fault.
4. You lack the background and understanding of the issues necessary to address them on a logical and intelligent level. (Probably another reason nobody wants you to speak at the rally. Why would we? You've got nothing to offer, no history, no knowledge and no ability.)
5. Your give no ground mentality and bad mouthing organizations shows your true lack of experience in this field coupled with a suspect understanding of how the system(s) work.
6. You have a undeserving high opinion of yourself to the point that you think you should be or are capable of being a lobbyist or giving a speech on the ORV subject.
You need to get over yourself. You are not a leader, not versed the the situation, not effective and not intelligent enough to accomplish anything remotely close to what you're suggesting.

Intersting, I have not attacked anyone's intelligence, yet here you are attacking mine. Just what the left-wing does. Can't argue against the facts, so resort to attacking the intelligence of the opposer.....nice lawyer trick there, does it work often?
I am not going to be dragged into a bickering match with a lawyer. Please start another thread where you can bring up the points I am "incorrect" on and we can discuss those, if you are so inclined.

Lisa:
I've never attacked your intelligence, just pointed out the fact that you've failed to use any.
As for you "left-wing" references, that's really drastic, even for you.
Regarding arguing the facts, I've demonstrated in numerous other posts your inability to grasp the facts or deal with any of them. (Kind of like the whole CCA and MSFG being part of the same organization) Each time, you've run the other way along with Viper and Steward. You've failed miserably in everything you've tried to do.
Seriously, don't stop posting. It's always fun making you look even more ridiculous each time. No tricks here, lawyer or otherwise. Just meeting you head on and proving you wrong every time.
Oh and as far as a different thread, you started on already titled something like "Digging I've Done" where you went into a sensless rant about the MSFG and the CCA that you somehow linked as one and the same. So, come on back to the thread you started and I'll discuss anything you like.

WOW! WITH ALL THIS ARGUING AMONGST OURSELVES HOW WILL WE HAVE TIME TO ACCOMPLISH THE TASKS AT HAND?
Lisa I think what bothers most of us goes back to what our parents tought us at a young age "if you dont have something positive or nice to say do not say anything at all".Instead of pointing out all the things and people who you think are wrong with the association maybe point out the things that are right about it.We all here have a common goal to gain more access to public land in your case or in our case riding areas a slightly different but close enough to the same.We as agroup do not want to take the lets sit back and see what happens attitude any more, that does not work so we are now taking the lets get strength in numbers and be heard approach. If this does not work at least we tried and failed and did not just sit back and do nothing. But I also believe if this does not work we will try something else becouse our resiliance is unwavering and our numbers are great and growing we must succede.

The hamster on the wheel that powers it died today.
RIP fluffy.
Yeah, my husband admitted to killing it. Haven't had time to get back on and upload everything again. Since ya'll said you were gonna troll it, I am going to have to learn how to block IPs, get better spam protection etc. I am working on something else instead for right now. A blog that I will have to approve of replies before I post them up.
For those still curious, yes I am still planning on starting an association of all public access users. It will likely take me most, if not all summer to come up with the answers ya'll will need before we can really get into it, but that will give this other association time to show us how well they are really working.

In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.
