I live in a gated community that has a small conservation area to its NW side, about 1.25 acres of sensitive land.  Someone rode a car or an ATV in the conservation area and flatten a large portion of it. The community is still under construction and has not been turned over to the residents (HOA). So the project manager builder (who I know very well since I am in the real estate business) called me and left me a message that the city of Lee County wants to find out who did this and wants to take legal action.  To make a long story short ... My home is located near the entrance of the community, the conservation area about two blocks from my home, I don't ride my ATV in the community or ever ridin in the conservation. The residents know I have 3 ATVs in my garage.  My point ... why the hell would the city of Lee County and the builder question me if I destroyed the conservation area. I wonder what pr!ck resident tried to blame me.

And even if I did prove it. Next thing I know they will test the soil on my tires to convict me. lol

Let me tell ya, they really got it with us.

Another story:

A co-worker at the office owns a 450r very modded out. He hasn't started the bike in a while so, inside his garage he cranks it and warms it up, not at high revs. Two of his neighbors walk up to his drive way and tell him that "it is illegal to have those in this city"  We're talking about Lee county. What a schmuck.  The guys asked him not to run his quad in the community or else they will report it to the HOA.  My buddy said he looked at him with a stupid look and told them to F off.

Who do these people think they are.  Now keep in mind, at no time were we riding our ATVs.

i feel the same why, we have motorcycles(not exactly quiet) and quads, according to the rules of our community, no atv''s and you are supposed to walk your motorcycle out of the community before starting the engine, well, that isn't working for us, lol, next door lives one of the guys on the communty board andd we are gettinng tot know him and he tells us how anytime we fire anything up he recievs a couple of complaints, we are not allowed to work on the drag car drag bike because of the noise, too many RULES!!!

Not a day goes by that I dont see a quad or dirtbike flying down the street with no protection gear. Now I willl say I have my share of fun on the street, But I do use my helmet, and I dont freaking swerve right hand stop signs and things of  that nature, I usely only do it to test something on the quads. My area is very liberal to all the quads and dirtbikes riding around, being that everyone here either owns one, wants to own one, and has friends/ family that owns one.

That sucks Dennis, I hate being accused of things I dont do, an Older guy came to my house a few months back comlaining that I " pulled a wheelie on the street going 50 and drifted onto his newly put grass and tore it up." Funny how my quad that day was jacked up waiting for new tires to come in....

I used to live out of town where most anything goes. Me and my neighbors always got along well. My neighbor raced stock cars at a local track. Every Saturday night, (especially if his car was not running just right) he would come in after a race (about 1 or 2am) start working on his race car. Race it down the street in front of our house and back. I solved this problem by putting straight pipes on my truck. Getting up on Sunday morning at 7am and revved hell out of it for about 30 minutes straight. He later told me that the neighbor about a 1/2 mile from us called him that morning telling him to shut that damn race car off. He told him that it was me and he needed to call me. Which I had no phone at the time. LOL..........With that said. Just tell them that you will get loud pipes on your truck and wake everyone up every morning testing and tuning your truck instead of your quad if they ever complain again. Your atv may not be allowed but your truck is. LOL

i live in a gated  community  too. ohh boy if i turn on my atv  they are at my door. i got a tickit for leaving my trailer out .then another when my aunt parked her car on the side walk for 10 mins.
we have gotten so manny tickits here its not funny they are at the point they are going to try and kick us out and when that happins we will take them to court.
the rent-a-cop came to my house when i was sleaping banged on my doors and told me to stop riding my atv lol i looked at him puzzeld and slamed the door on his face he kept banging on it and when i answed for the 2nd time.  i then asked him who told him i was riding my atvs he then said well you have atvs im like but who said i was riding them ? he said we herd them! i then said well did any one call about them ? he answers no! i then told him in a very very nice way to shove it and if he had a witness to come tell me then! then shut the door he then went back in hi lil car and went on his way.
they do this every time they see my atvs

When i was in the market for a home 16 years ago I avoided newer communties primarily because of the HOA's . The last thing I will tolerate is some a$$hole walkin up to me and tellin me what i can do .
I cant stand HOA's condo commandos , nothing more than a bunch of old retired geizers who need to belong to something.

I hate HOA's with a passion and its bad enough we have to deal with city ,county , state and federal governments as it is .

I say if you cant turn in on without running around I would do what my buddy does. he opens his garage whenever the old farts are outside and starts and revs his bike cause the rules there are he cant run it on hoa property but he won that battle because he proved it when the pres showed up he had it running in the garage they call the police on him and the cop told them they are screwed cause 1 he not out of the garage and 2 it is in daylight hours . there is nothing they can do just something to think about

Sounds like your communities have been infected with "the snowbird."

They are almost impossible to get rid of either. good luck.

A few months ago residents in my community got a letter that said -

Anyone caught operating an offroad vehicle in the community will receive a warning.
Second time caught, you will not be allowed to store your offroad vehicle in your home or garage.  WHO DO THESE MOFOs think they are ?  Note: I never ride my ATV in the community, when unloading it off my truck or trailer I have no choice but to do it on the street in front of my house and pull into my drive way then garage.

My neighbor brought this to my attention because she hates load noise, so I told her maybe her husband should get rid of his Harley that’s louder then my 2 quads put together.  These freaking snowbirds and worthless Yankees need to go back home.

Sorry but I am freakin pist off.  Merry Christmas

I am sooooooo glad that I dont live in a HOA. They are just a bunch of old farts that have nothing better to do then to worry about everything that goes on and make them selves feel special. My dad would last about 2 minutes in one of these places. The first time that one of those wrinkly overweight gezers told him that he was breaking one of the rules he would either lay one of them out on the pavement or back up to his house at 3am and just let it hit the rev limiter. I dont know how you stand it.

here is a better one if you can ride motorcycles in your neighborhood. the guy we bought one of our ranchers from was told he couldnt ride his bike anymore in the neighborhood. so he sold it and went out and bought a harley with open pipes on it and rides it now.  Evil  now that is freakin smart. if i was ever told that mine were too loud, i would do the same.

For Christmas I am going to dress like SANTA and ride my 700r around the community with my Big Gun "BLASTING" saying HO HO HO with my middle finger in the air.  I am so sick of these people.

Sounds childish but the thought of it makes me happy !!!

just burn all their houses down, they have to have a home to be in the HOME owner's association

lot easier than buying expensive mufflers, harleys, waking up early to mow, etc

I was about to say the same thing. Screw these people. I dont know how they get away with this crap. Its freakin rediculous. I would last about 5 seconds with an HOA. I dont see how they get away with leins and kick people out of homes that they own.

I live in a really nice little private community with lots of deed restrictions and rules. The rules and restrictions do a lot to keep property values up which is good. However, being fed up with the stupidity of someof the HOA actions, I ran for and was elected president of the HOA. Now, everything runs smooth and everyone is happy. Best part? Chillin and I ride his Rhino up and down the street wearing nothing but those assless chaps while blasting Rage Against the Machine and drinking Absinthe right out of the bottle.

It's good to be the king.

Thurmund, that is crap that they treat you like that. I'd be sure to buy a large dog and walk him in their yards.
