I was planning on comming down but for one, my bike is still in a couple of pieces, and my damn trailer I am having built that I was supposed to be done last week now won't be done until second week of Jan Angry. so needless to say I won't have that for the family to stay in either. Brassart and a bunch of my other buddies will be there though Cool

Pretty sure we'll be racin with you all during the year, so just a suggestion about the rules.  You say the rules are same as Hazlehurst, problem, rules in Hazlehurst aren't as posted on their website.  for instance, swingarm rule says 2" extension only, but they allow aftermarket lightened since one of their "crew" uses one.  Pipe rule says cpi inframes only, but they allow any in-frame drag pipe, again, their racers started using rdz, so any were allowed.
You need to print out your rules on the site completely and make them official for at least a year.  And after being torn down the last 3 races we were in, the $100.00  protest fee is not enough, it should be at least $200.00, or make it interesting with a $100.00 protest fee allowing the one being protested to bump the fee by up to $200 to $300 by immediately upon being notified of the protest by putting up an additional amount which must be matched by the protestor, in other words, put up or shut up.

Ron, I would have to agree with you on everything that you mentioned, I will get with Jeff tonight ( and others) to see what the vote would be on the protest amount. We dont want to "tear down" bikes if we can avoid it !!!

I will also get the rules printed for you as well, and YES they will be in effect for a year, any changes would be MINOR if at all.

Thanks for the input!!!!!!! we need that from peaple who are gonna be racing, so we can better the track for everyone Grin

now i agree you don't want to tear down, but if you make it so expensive that no one will tear down, then you are going to have people cheating.  need to meet in the middle somewhere.  maybe 150 dollars to protest.  protest must be down before the race is over or before the winnings are paid out.  i can tell you right now, you make the protest 200 dollars or more, and you are going to have a bunch of cheaters.

if bike is legal, the protestor pays the bike owner that is legal 150 dollars.
if bike is illegal, the owner of the bike pays the protester 150 dollars and the protester gets to keep his 150 dollars that he put up to protest the bike.

just my opinion but if someone knows that if they get caught cheating they are going to have to pay and forfeit the winnings, or be banned from the track, they will not cheat.

i agree smoke cant make the fee to high because people will start to cheat.

that is why you need to make cheater's pay or be banned from the track.  cheaters are what hurt any sport and with them it is hard to encourage a sport to grow.  cheating racing is like taking steroids in athletic sports.  you get caught cheating you pay.

Back to protest amount, if you don't have or are not willing to pay $200.00, you don't have enough money to run with the legal bikes.  Gaskets or o-ring set = 30.00.  person being torn down should make at least 100.00 for trouble, especially if legal.  and if illegal, should have to pay, probably has more than 100.00 in illegal setup

you said no internal work for the stock class but on the dirtrags rules (http://341dirtdrags.tripod.com/id2.html) for the stock class it states no more than an .080 over bore for stock class. Well......can I run my .080 over raptor in the stock class?
