First off most of what everyone calls Macs Fish Camp is not legal to ride. The legal part of Macs is very small, by the time you hit 5th gear you are at the end. If you get caught crossing the street on your ride, you may end up loosing it for a while and maybe get a couple tickets. The parking area is closely watched by young thieves waiting for you to hit the trees so they can steal your stuff.

Now Holey Lands is 100% legal and nicer to ride. You can ride the levee for hours and not get wet and muddy. The people out there on the weekends are a bit friendlier then over at Macs. You will always have your petty thieves that will grab your ramps if you don't lock them up, but there are really few problems at Holey Lands.

You do not have to have your bike registered and there is no entrance fee at Holey Lands.

You are required to have your ATV title and stickered to ride Holeylands or any other public lands.

You only need the sticker and flag if you want to be certain you won't be ticketed. You probably will not be ticketed, but, why chance it for a few bucks? It's the same odds when riding illegally at Mac's. I've recently done it, but, I know the risks and am willing to pay the price until the SFWD plays fair.

I have been out there every Friday night, Saturday and Sunday Day for the last 6 months straight. The only thing that FWC was hastling you about was the flags during General Gun and General Gun Vehicle season. 90% of the bikes out there do not have the registration sticker and I have not seen or heard anyone getting any tickets for it. I actually haven't seen any FWC officers out there since the end of the General season. You might see one or two over by US27 babysitting the duck hunters, but thats about it. My friends and I are out there every weekend with around 8 quads and not a one of us have our stickers on our rides. Its worth the trip, don't sweat the small stuff and come out and ride.

Take US 27 North to Mile Marker 47 and look for the big brown sign in the middle that says "Holey Lands/Rotenberger W.M.A". Make the U-Turn and follow the paved road on the North side of the canal West 5 miles. When the pavement ends there will be parking areas on your left and right side.

Can anyone tell me how long it should take from the time you get on us 27 (Okeechoobee Rd) from the turnpike to the time you get to mile marker 47 (according to the directions here).

Also, where can I get that green sticker that you guys are talking about?

Thanks!!!
