St. Lucie County Commission is meeting tonight, Tuesday Dec 5th @ 6:00 p.m, and they will try to exempt St. Lucie County from the law which lets ATV's ride on dirt roads:

http://www.co.st-lucie.fl.us/bocc2/bocc-agendas.htm

Dreth and I, along with whomever we can round up, plan to go and speak against the exemption.  We need to stop this and let them know if they want to exempt the roads they need to support another place for us to ride. I know some of the dealers will be there too.

If anyone is available please come on out.

Place:  County Commission Chambers in the Roger Poitras Administration Annex at 2300 Virginia Ave., Ft. Pierce, Fla. 34982

They voted 5-0 to NOT allow ATV's on unpaved roads, I emailed them again , and will continue to email them until I get a response.

Response- #1

Joe-

Great to hear from you again. I hope that everything is well. I have received your email regarding the use of OHVs on unpaved roads in St. Lucie County. Please understand that this issue is not an easy one. Even though you purchase these vehicles, county government has no obligation to provide you a place at which you may use it. If that were the case, every owner of a Ferrari or Mercedes-Benz would ask the county to build an autobahn so the full potential of the vehicle could be achieved.

I share your concerns regarding this issue, and look forward to providing any information I can to facilitate OHV enthusiasts finding answers to the questions you ask.

Merry Christmas and all the best for 2007!

Cordially,

Joe

Pretty close to the same thing he told me right after he went into office, when we tried to bring the ATV Park back into focus.
