I went to two more riding spots yesterday; one in Sarasota, and one in Englewood. They have been officially shut down.Northport got shutdown a while ago as well as Hudson.I can name four other places. Now they are closing Bad Luck Squares in Naples.
The police showed up at both spots I went to, so there is no more going there and hoping you don't get run off.I was informed that they are now patrolling these area's for arrests. They are posting signs and people are taking them down.Which means they have on record of this and will be issueing court dates from now on.
We are protesting in Naples on the 29th.Look at the post on here for it people!! Show your support as a member , or you won't have to be a member...we won't need this site anymore.

Why is it so easy for you to blame someone for the reasons why they were shut down. What we need to do is show support so we will get more riding spots.Don't keep making excuses...show up and show support.

It's not a matter of when , or why? We need to see the bigger picture here.Soon , we will be very limited as to where we can ride.If we don't fight for our rights, then we will no longer have them.

I know, private properties being ridden on.If they give us land to ride on, then we won't need these properties. There are a lot of people that ride that work, pay taxes, and pay for their right to have recreation. They are not giving us any priviliges. If you don't speak up and ask for what you want, noone knows what you want. Therefore, you won't get anything, they'll just do what they want.
If you love to ride, then you need to speak up!!

what would happen if every registered atv owner in the STATE would give a $100 towards purchase of some land  how much $ do u think that would raise? and since it would be private property  no one could say $HIT  SHOULD BE ENOUGH TO BUY 1000 ACRES OR SO DONT U THINK??  want to buy some swamp land

That's part of the problem.Every registered owner for years has been paying extra when they get registered. That extra money was suppose to be for recreational area's.Someone has been misusing the funds cause there is no riding area's being built.
That is why we are protesting.

Sadly, 4fifftyr is right. The internet was a vehicle for information on a riding spot. For the locals it was great until trailers started showing up and 10 times the amount of riders started showing up and leaving garbage behind. Can't blame anyone really. How can you save fun just for yourself. (Not anyone in particular)
As for the $$
Again, sadly, the monies generated by off-roaders have been misappropriated. The recreational division consists of the very groups that want to shut us down completely. Biking, hiking, horseback riding, are all part of the kitty our monies go into.
The horse people are making aq trail throughout FL. It takes an enormous amount of money to study, research, and develop this trail, and your off-road money goes towards that.
Somebody in government is laughing at us so hard. I can see them rolling on the floor covered with our money laughing it up.
Good luck with your issue. If I can help, I will.

I'll agree with all of you out there,we need fight
Lecture more for our riding areas in
near future if we don't we lose alot of  our offroad riders
in near future and this why Offroad riders should keep on fighting
for there freedom rights to have right to ride in this world we lived
in and I'll say don't give up hope on it just keep on fighting  Pirate  Boxer
and don't give up on it. My best advice for you out there just show up these
OHV meetings and protest rallyies in near future to change our reasons around here get
our riding rights back on track in state of florida and i know we have long way to go by right now"
but, just keep on fighting them we still have chance
to win in many ways of we can go by  sometime in near future around here.  Drive

Thanks,
Americanhighlander  Cool

Ps:Just think about it, we need new law that have atv riders can ride on unpaved roads
in near future if they made new law with protection act from opting other counties in rual areas around
here.I hope state of florida recreates a  new atv law for ages 16 above to ride atvs on unpaved roads in near future that allow farmers and OHV people to ride freely at certain speed rate and It hads act with state of florida as long it's in state of florida and county commissions can't reject this new atv law when state had already act into effect through out state. If state of florida had new atv state law as today this would never happened from all other opt out counties around here as today. I know it sounds crazy to me but think about it can change alot things around here in near future.. Smiley
