STOLEN ATV at L-Cross this weekend, 11/18/06

We pulled into L-cross on Sunday. Dude comes up and says "watch your stuff, my friends Rincon was stolen last night while it was parked right next to our camper". They woke up to have breakfast and noticed the bike was gone. How sad! That really sucks! Hope he gets his bike back.

If you ever have anything stolen out there. Make sure you tell Mark and Patty as soon as possible so they can have security check the trailers as they leave the property.

somebody posted in the for sale section they had a foreman stolen at l cross also...

Does that make 2 bikes stolen? This one is a Rincon, the other in the For Sale section was a Foreman. It could be the same unit.

Sounds like L-Cross should spend some of that money on overnight security. If they dont their business will suffer from posts like these. Hope those guys get their quads back, they have probably already made it to Miami & sold for dope money. Friend in Tampa area had his sons quad stolen & a week later recovered in Miami. Sounds like the thieves will drive a long ways for their profession.

Sounds like L-Cross should spend some of that money on overnight security. If they dont their business will suffer from posts like these. Hope those guys get their quads back, they have probably already made it to Miami & sold for dope money. Friend in Tampa area had his sons quad stolen & a week later recovered in Miami. Sounds like the thieves will drive a long ways for their profession.

They do have overnight security but they cannot have a security officer at every campsite waiting on theives. Not saying that he left his keys in his quad but I have seen people leave their keys in them and not have a problem. Besides, do you know how fast you can hotwire a quad. If anyone has anything stolen, if they would go tell Mark or Patty then they will have security check every vehicle that leaves the property as they are leaving until the quad is found or everyone leaves. There would be a possiblity of someone leaving before it gets reported stolen. There is also a possibility of someone taking it for a joy ride and ditching it out there. If so and it is reported to them then they will keep a watch out for it out there and if they fing it at least they will have contact numbers to call.

Does their overnight security set at the gate or rome the grounds watching for suspicious activity. Somebody walking around in the middle of the night & pushing a quad onto a trailer or truck is IMHO suspicious enough to ask questions. I would be willing to bet the theif didnt drive it out of the campsite. I am sure the guy told them the next morning when he woke up, but by then it is 100 miles away. I have never been there, but just manning a gate isnt enough with the kind of money setting in those fields on a big weekend. Myself though, I would have a big cable locked around my quads if i didnt have a closed trailer. It is unfortunate, but is a sign of the times no matter where you are.

Yes they do have people at the gate and they do have people roaming around. Now that you said that you have never been there you have no idea how much area there is out there. I do not care how many people you have things won't never go missing while security is standing around that area. But wait until they leave that area to take something. As many events that have been put on out there and as many things that have been stolen. I think they do a good job. When you go riding anywhere, you are taking a chance of someone stealing something unless you lock it up. And thats not 100% proof that it will be there the next time you go to get it.

Also someone pushing an ATV around or onto a trailer or truck would not be suspicous people break out there all the time.
