Me and my cousin were the only ones that showed up for them to opt out. Had a few against it. Only 4 commissioners were in attendance and three of them voted to opt out. I left them some information on good places that would make good riding areas and they three of them agreed that they do need to look at places to ride. Lets see what they do with it now. I would like to say thanks to Commissioner Danny Stevens of Levy County for opposing the ordinance to opt out.

People are so missinformed. I had these questions come up during the commission meeting. One lady said that motorcycles are different because they have traffic laws to abide by and go faster so they can stay with the traffic. With that I said, Yes mam they do go faster, in fact some are built to go 160mph to 180mph, way faster then my atv. Also another man asked if ATVs had to have insurance, in which I replied, No sir, but neither do motorcycles and they go way faster. He told me I was wrong and I told him maybe he needs to look at the lawbooks because I do know this. The state must think that if you crash a motorcycle then there is not gonna be much left anyways.

I wish I had of thought of this while I was ther but what I thought of after the meeting was over was that there is not much traffic on dirt roads to keep up with. Also the law reads less then 35mph, my atv will go that fast to keep up with the traffic. And on the insurance question I should have ask the guy if he knew how much insurance was required to drive a 4,000 lb. vehicle down the road. It may as well not be insured. You are only required to have personal injury protection, which does nothing if you do get into an accident.
