What do you peeps like better? An o-ring chain OR
a non o-ring chain. I ride MX with this quad.

I usually get non o-ring but this last time I got an o-ring chain.
I read, or was told, once that it robs about 1 horsepower.

I sure can feel the drag as I spin the tires when washing the quad Sad

Well... let me know what ya'll think.

well a o-ring chain does weight more so i can understand that. and its supposed to last longer... i think thats bull..... if you get a non o-ring chain and wd-40 it after every wash it will last a long time. every o-ring chain i had lasts no more than a non o-ring.

I've never heard that you can lose or gain horsepower by having a non o ring chain.

O-ring chains are suscepitble to damage from solvents that can get inside of the o-rings and destroy whatever lubricant your using. Be careful when cleaning your bike when you have a chain with O rings.

I always thought the idea was to have longer chain life with less maintenance.

I never heard of it (or thought of it) as a PERFORMANCE issue.

believe it or not it does rob some power. think of it. its just more weight for your motor to spin. thats why alot of people use billet hubs and sprockets.

Hmmm....how much weight savings is in the chain? 

I imagine the transfer of power would depend more on the slackness, or lack there of, rather than the weight.

But I understand what you're saying from a theoretical aspect.

after you wear out the factory o ring without masterlink, then go with the non oring because you can buy 2 chains for the price of 1 oring just remember to buy one with 8500 tensil streghten

Now that's funny right there.

That picture was taken after I got back from QS#1. I threw my chain in the race. I had just washed the quad and took some pictures before I got it unwrapped from the front sprocket
